Job summary

Larsen & Toubro (L&T) invites a senior piping engineer to lead design, development and integration of shipboard piping systems for naval and commercial ships in India. You will ensure compliance with Indian Navy requirements, prepare piping deliverables, 3D models and specs, coordinating with shipyards, vendors and customers.

You will mentor engineering teams, drive schedules, lead design reviews and support commissioning, with expertise in CAD platforms and classification rules necessary to

Qualifications

• B.E Mechanical / Marine Engineering is required.
• 16 to 22 years of experience in Piping System Design for Naval and Commercial Ship Vessels.
• Experience in Shipbuilding / Marine / Offshore / Heavy Engineering / Defence Projects (Preferred).

Responsibilities

• Plan and manage piping design activities throughout the project lifecycle, from concept design to commissioning for Naval and Commercial vessels.
• Develop engineering schedules, resource plans and deliverable tracking to meet project milestones.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure timely integration of piping systems with ship structure, machinery and electrical systems.
• Monitor design progress, identify risks and implement mitigation measures to ensure on-time project execution.
• Lead design reviews, technical discussions and resolution of engineering issues with customers, shipyards and classification societies.
• Ensure timely preparation, review and release of engineering deliverables including P&IDs, 3D models, layouts and specifications.
• Manage design changes, configuration control and compliance with project requirements and Navy-approved standards.
• Support procurement, construction and commissioning activities by providing timely technical inputs and engineering clarifications.
• Ensure first time right and quality compliance in the design process

Job Summary:

Responsible for design, development and integration of shipboard piping systems for Naval and Commercial Shipbuilding Projects, ensuring compliance with Indian Navy requirements, classification rules and statutory regulations. Responsible for preparation and review of piping design deliverables, engineering calculations, 3D models and technical specifications. Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, shipyards, vendors and customers to achieve seamless system integration. Provide technical leadership during design reviews, construction and commissioning. Drive project execution, quality, schedule adherence and mentoring of engineering teams throughout the project lifecycle.
