Job Description

• Collect bloodsamples from patients for investigations in one prick.
• Practice properpatient identification, especially when working on hospital floors.
• Fill the lab testrequisition form.
• Work on thesoftware of Hinai and bar code printing for the labeling of vacutainers.
• Operate thepneumatic for sending the sample from the collection site to the lab.
• Maintain the stockfor the collection areas.
• Answer the basicqueries of the patient coming for collection regarding the reports and shouldbe able to guide the patient appropriately.
• Do basic dataentries of the samples in the lab.
• Follow instructionsgiven to then by the doctors/technicians/customer care.
• Answer the phonecalls as and when required at the reception desk.
• Maintain therequired patient’s records in soft and hard copies.
• Expect to work witha large number of patients varying in age and health status.
• Transport allspecimen samples safely in case of home collection to the laboratory.
• Keep the phlebotomycart / kit or station well-organized at all times.
• Practice infectioncontrol standards at all times when working with patients and equipment.
• Centrifuge bloodsamples, as and when required to assist the technicians working in the lab.
• Arrange the V acutainers on thework bench before and after the investigation process is over.
• Help in locatingthe desired sample from the preserved sample as and when required.
• In case of absenceof the customer-care executive attend answer the phone calls.
