Job summary

Unipath Specialty Laboratory Limited in Surat, Gujarat, seeks a Phlebotomist - In House to join our on-site team. The role focuses on accurate blood collection, proper labeling, and timely sample dispatch to processing.

Responsibilities include stock control of consumables, upholding the QMS, recording samples in the register, and communicating issues to the Lab In-Charge. A BSc and hands-on phlebotomy experience are preferred.

• Support QMS implementation and maintenance.
• Maintain a professional, patient-friendly working environment.
• Coordinate with all departments for smooth operations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain adequate stock of blood collection tubes (Plain, EDTA, Fluoride, Citrate), cotton, bandages, micropore tape, urine containers, syringes, needles, stickers, IPA, and other required consumables.
• Ensure proper labeling of samples with legible handwriting or barcode identification, and dispatch them to the respective departments for processing.
• Maintain primary sample records in the Sample Register and communicate special instructions to the Doctor or Section Head (SH).
• Promptly report phlebotomy-related issues, including patient complaints and repeat sample collection, to the Laboratory In-charge (LI) or Team Manager (TM).
• Register patient complaints and communicate them to the Section Head and Reception team.
• Handle non-conformities and coordinate with management to implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Respond promptly to issues related to clotted, repeated, or missing samples.
• Ensure effective implementation and maintenance of the Quality Management System (QMS).
• Maintain a professional, patient-friendly, and supportive working environment.
• Coordinate effectively with all departments to ensure smooth operations.
• Perform any other duties assigned by the higher authority.
