Job summary

Hotgi Cement Works seeks a maintenance lead to plan and organize mechanical upkeep of the plant, ensuring preventive maintenance is followed and coordination with operations is seamless.

Responsibilities include supervising maintenance activities, reviewing shutdown plans, and addressing major breakdowns with OEMs/consultants to maintain plant availability and cost targets.

Job description

Monitor the mechanical maintenance of Hotgi Cement Works as per the assigned schemes, as per the implementation & quality plan, coordinate for improvement jobs in the plant as and when required to meet budgeted cost and time.

Hotgi Cement Works Works is one of the model cement grinding plants with an installed capacity to produce 4.0 million tons of cement /annum, employing approximately 120 people. It manufactures a range of premium brand of cement and enjoys a reputation of giving value for money. Hotgi Cement Works has opted for the Best World Class Technology equipment right from its inception.

The plant consists of Cement Mills and packing plant with double packer facility. The plant operation is 24 hours/day and 345 days in a year.

Major challenges:

The position has to plan and organise mechanical maintenance of plant equipments and involves close supervision of plant operation and activities of mechanical related work associated. The job holder co-ordinates for plant maintenance and operation jobs.

KRA1 1.Accountability : Plant Availability :

Supervise and coordinate the maintenance activities for optimum plant availability as per the targets as per market requirement and satisfaction of both internal & external customer. Ensure implementation of preventive maintenance schedule.

• Review the weekly / major shutdown plans.
• Analyse major breakdowns and plan corrective actions.
• Interact with OEMs / Consultants for typical plant maintenance problems and AMC for critical equipments.
• Help to other sections as and when required.
• Meet regularly internal customers to take feed back & implement corrective action.
• To ensure availability to meet production target even after high power tariff stoppages for reducing power cost
• To monitor and review water management.

KRA2 1.Systems Implementation:

Incorporate WCM,TQM, ISO,EMS requirements in fabrication/erection activity of allotted section to make it defect free, safe and cost effective. ¿Improve the equipment efficiency through regular inspection and maintenance of equipments.

• ¿Take precautions to arrest leakages, wastages of material.
• ¿Implement 5S principles.
• ¿Ensure doing job right first time.

KRA3 1.Cost Control:

Monitor the cost of mechanical execution of allotted project to avoid cost over run.

• ¿Avoid re-work.
• ¿Optimise use of manpower and material for maintenance.
• ¿Identify & use of surplus inventory available.
• ¿Monitor cost with budget.
• ¿Take corrective action.

KRA4 1.Quality Control:

Monitor the quality of mechanical jobs of allotted project.

• ¿Inspection of quality of maintenance.
• ¿Witness inspection & testing of jobs performed by staff and contract labours.
