Job summary

UltraTech Cement's Hirmi plant seeks a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to maintain the VRM coal mill and associated kiln equipment. You will ensure safe, reliable operation and strict adherence to SOPs to support budgeted clinker production.

Responsibilities include monitoring mill condition (vibration, temperature, wear), coordinating with Process and E&I teams, planning shutdowns, and maintaining spares and MIS documentation to sustain plant productivity.

Qualifications

• BE Mechanical or Diploma required.
• Experience in mechanical maintenance of heavy process equipment preferred.
• Knowledge of VRM, bag house, rollers, gearbox, hydraulics is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safe and reliable operation of the VRM coal mill.
• Maintain mechanical systems such as rollers, grinding table, gearbox, hydraulics, and lubrication systems.
• Monitor mill condition (vibration, temperature, wear) and prevent breakdowns.
• Coordinate with Process, E&I, and other department engineers to attend operational issues.
• Identify equipment abnormalities and attend to issues with available resources.
• Ensure work is executed per SOPs / SMPs / checklists for shift maintenance activities.
• Plan and execute shutdown jobs (roller change, hardfacing, liner replacement).
• Maintain PM checks, DGIs, and PM orders; ensure spares and MIS reports are up to date.

Job Purpose

To execute maintenance of mechanical equipments of Kiln to obtain optimum availability of kiln and Preheater for budgeted production of clinker with optimum utilization of available resources.

To ensure adherence to quality and environmental management system at Hirmi.

To execute Mechanical maintenance of all equipment in process lab Along with Sectional Job

Carryout modification / up-gradation jobs for continuous improvement of plant productivity & cost.

• Identify equipment abnormalities and operational issues and attend them with available resources.
• Ensure work is executed as per SOPs / SMPs / checklists for shift maintenance activities.
• Plan and execute shutdown jobs (roller change, hardfacing, liner replacement).
• 100% implementation of systems such as QMS, EMS, OHSAS, and WCM.
• 100% implementation of PM checks (Digi check), notifications, and PM orders.
• Maintain spares, documentation, and MIS reports.
