You own the numbers and the campaigns. Tracking, attribution, reporting, and ROI live in this seat, and so does the ad spend across every platform: Google, Meta, WhatsApp, and LLM placements on ChatGPT, with LinkedIn to follow. SEM is the core, with SEO support alongside.
An external ads agency runs the buying today. Within the first three to six months you take the campaigns in-house and own them end to end. Your reporting goes two places: to the Marketing Manager for weekly delivery, and straight to the CMIO for pipeline and ROI. When the CEO asks what marketing returned this quarter, your dashboard is the answer.
Measurement and attribution
- Build and maintain end-to-end campaign tracking: UTMs, conversion events, lead source integrity
- Own attribution from first touch to bound premium, working with the RevOps Admin on the data model
- Own and understand the reporting: track every dollar through the pipeline and the ROI of every campaign
Reporting
- Deliver a weekly performance dashboard and a monthly ROI report a CEO actually reads
- Report spend, cost per lead, cost per bound account, and pipeline contribution by channel
- Flag anomalies and trend breaks within days, not at month end
Email, outbound, and automation
- Own email campaigns end to end: strategy, sends, sequences, and results
- Track outbound: sequences, reply rates, and pipeline contribution
- Own the marketing automations in Pathway, Sender, and HubSpot; the RevOps Admin builds and maintains the plumbing, you own the logic and the results
- A/B test subject lines, send times, and sequences; protect deliverability, list hygiene, and CASL compliance
Campaign and channel ownership
- Own the ad spend, the campaigns, and the accountability for ROI
- Run the transition: work with the external agency, then bring the buying in-house within three to six months
- Budget testing and evidence-based shifts across Google, Meta, WhatsApp, ChatGPT, and LinkedIn over time
- Work with the content team on landing pages and conversion rate optimization (CRO)
- Build internal campaigns: cross-sell into the existing book and Google review generation
AI in this role
- Use AI tools for analysis, anomaly detection, and first-draft reporting narratives
- Build AI-assisted scripts and dashboards rather than exporting spreadsheets by hand
- Create agents and skills that amplify the whole team’s AI output
- Keep a prompt library for recurring analyses so reporting compounds instead of restarting
