Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute daily, weekly, and monthly production plans based on project schedules.
• Monitor fabrication activities including CNC cutting, drilling, welding, fit-up, assembly, blasting, painting, and dispatch.
• Ensure production targets are achieved while maintaining quality and cost objectives.

Job Title: Production Manager PEB (Pre-Engineered Buildings)

Reports To: General Manager Production / VP Operations
Job Summary
The Production Manager will lead and oversee all manufacturing activities related to Pre-Engineered Buildings (PEB), ensuring timely production, adherence to quality standards, optimum resource utilization, and compliance with safety requirements. The role involves managing the complete fabrication process, coordinating with engineering, procurement, quality, and project teams to achieve production targets and customer delivery commitments.

Key Responsibilities

Production Planning & Execution

• Develop and execute daily, weekly, and monthly production plans based on project schedules.
• Monitor fabrication activities including CNC cutting, drilling, welding, fit-up, assembly, blasting, painting, and dispatch.
• Ensure production targets are achieved while maintaining quality and cost objectives.
• Optimize machine utilization and manpower productivity.

Shop Floor Management

• Supervise fabrication supervisors, engineers, and operators.
• Allocate manpower, machines, and materials efficiently.
• Resolve production bottlenecks to minimize downtime.
• Monitor WIP (Work in Progress) and ensure smooth production flow.

Quality Management

• Ensure fabrication complies with approved drawings, BOMs, welding procedures, and quality standards.
• Coordinate with the QA/QC team for inspections and corrective actions.
• Reduce rework, rejection, and material wastage through process improvements.

Coordination

• Work closely with Design, Procurement, Planning, Stores, Quality, and Projects departments.
• Ensure timely availability of raw materials and consumables.
• Coordinate dispatch schedules to meet customer delivery timelines.

Safety & Compliance

• Ensure compliance with HSE policies and statutory requirements.
• Promote 5S and Lean Manufacturing practices.
• Conduct safety audits and toolbox talks regularly.

Cost & Productivity Improvement

• Monitor production KPIs including productivity, efficiency, OEE, rejection, and on-time delivery.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce manufacturing costs.
• Implement Lean Manufacturing and Kaizen projects.

Team Development

• Train and mentor production engineers, supervisors, welders, and operators.
• Conduct performance reviews and identify skill development needs.
• Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• B.E./B.Tech or Diploma in Mechanical, Production, or Industrial Engineering.

Experience

• 815 years of experience in steel fabrication or PEB manufacturing.
• Minimum 35 years in a Production Manager or similar leadership role.
• Experience in structural steel fabrication, heavy fabrication, warehouses, industrial buildings, or EPC projects is preferred.

Technical Skills

• Strong knowledge of PEB fabrication processes.
• Expertise in structural steel drawings and fabrication sequencing.
• Knowledge of welding standards (AWS/IS), CNC machines, shot blasting, painting, and galvanizing.
• Familiarity with ERP systems (SAP, Microsoft Dynamics, or equivalent).
• Good understanding of ISO quality systems and production planning tools.
