You will supervise welding, cutting, assembly, and finishing, manage manpower, monitor targets, ensure quality, safety, and timely reporting to the Plant Head.
We are looking for an experienced and hands‑on Production Supervisor PEB Manufacturing to supervise and manage day‑to‑day fabrication and production activities at our New Plant in Gummidipoondi. The Production Supervisor will be responsible for ensuring that production activities, raw material handling, loading and unloading, fabrication, manpower deployment, and material movement are properly managed as per the approved production plan, drawings, quality requirements, and committed schedules.
Supervise day‑to‑day fabrication and production activities as per the approved production plan. Allocate work and manpower based on daily production priorities. Ensure fabrication activities are carried out as per approved fabrication and shop drawings. Monitor production activities including cutting, fit‑up, welding, drilling, assembly, and finishing, as applicable. Ensure daily production targets are achieved within the planned timelines. Monitor planned versus actual production and report deviations to the Plant Head. Identify production bottlenecks and take immediate corrective action in coordination with the concerned teams.
Supervise the receipt of raw materials and ensure materials are checked before acceptance. Verify raw materials against approved specifications, purchase documents, delivery challans, and material requirements. Check material dimensions, quantity, visible condition, damage, and identification before releasing materials for production. Coordinate with the Quality and Stores teams for inspection and acceptance of incoming materials. Ensure damaged, incorrect, or non‑conforming materials are properly identified and reported. Maintain proper identification and traceability of raw materials during storage and production. Ensure only approved and accepted materials are released for fabrication.
Supervise the safe and proper loading and unloading of raw materials, fabricated materials, and other production‑related items. Ensure materials are handled carefully to avoid damage, bending, distortion, or loss. Coordinate with Stores, Production, and Dispatch teams for material movement. Ensure proper manpower, lifting equipment, cranes, forklifts, or other required resources are available for loading and unloading activities. Monitor proper stacking and storage of materials. Ensure fabricated materials are handled and loaded as per dispatch and project requirements. Ensure safe material handling practices are followed at all times.
Supervise fabrication of PEB and structural steel components, including built‑up columns, rafters, beams, secondary members, purlins, girts, bracing, and associated components. Ensure fabrication is carried out as per approved drawings and specifications. Coordinate with Engineering and Quality teams for drawing clarifications and fabrication‑related issues. Ensure proper identification and handling of fabricated members throughout the production process.
Monitor daily manpower attendance, deployment, and productivity. Allocate workers effectively based on skill and production requirements. Ensure optimum utilization of manpower and avoid unnecessary idle time. Monitor worker productivity and report performance concerns. Coordinate with the Plant Head regarding manpower shortages and additional requirements. Maintain discipline and proper work practices within the assigned production area.
Monitor daily production output against assigned targets. Maintain records of production quantities, pending works, rework, and completed activities. Submit daily production updates to the Plant Head. Highlight delays, bottlenecks, manpower shortages, machinery issues, and material shortages. Ensure accurate production data is available for preparation of production MIS.
Ensure fabrication activities are carried out in accordance with approved drawings and quality requirements. Coordinate with the Quality team for inspections and clearance. Monitor workmanship and identify visible fabrication defects. Ensure quality issues are rectified promptly. Minimize rework through proper supervision and control of production activities.
Ensure relevant and latest approved fabrication drawings are available before commencing work. Coordinate with Engineering for drawing clarifications and fabrication‑related issues. Report drawing discrepancies or unclear details promptly. Ensure production activities are carried out according to the latest approved drawings.
Ensure machinery and equipment are properly utilized for assigned production activities. Monitor equipment availability and report breakdowns or operational issues immediately. Coordinate with the Maintenance team for timely resolution of machinery‑related issues. Ensure operators follow proper operating procedures and safe practices.
Ensure all workers use the required PPE and follow factory safety procedures. Monitor safe working practices related to welding, cutting, lifting, loading/unloading, material handling, and machinery operation. Immediately report unsafe conditions and ensure corrective action. Maintain proper housekeeping and organization in the assigned production area. Promote discipline, safety, and accountability among the workforce.
Coordinate with Planning regarding production priorities and schedules. Coordinate with Engineering for fabrication drawings and technical clarifications. Coordinate with Quality for raw material and finished material inspections. Coordinate with Stores regarding material receipt, storage, and availability. Coordinate with Maintenance regarding machinery and equipment issues. Coordinate with Dispatch regarding loading and readiness of completed materials.
