Job summary

JSW Steel in Mumbai seeks an experienced payroll professional to manage end-to-end payroll for a large workforce, including ex-employees, and ensure timely statutory payments.

The role requires hands-on handling of PF, ESI, Professional Tax, LWF, Gratuity, and TDS, with strong data accuracy and reporting.

You will collaborate with HR, Finance, and internal audit teams to maintain SOPs and address queries while upholding compliance.

Qualifications

• 4-6 years experience in managing Payroll and Compliances independently for a mid-sized company/ multiple entity with headcount of ~3K.
• Hands-on experience in managing Payroll & allied Statutory Compliances (PF, ESI, Professional Tax, LWF, Statutory Bonus, Salary TDS and Gratuity) - essential

Responsibilities

• Timely and accurate payroll processing for all employees and ex-employees.
• Timely payment of Statutory dues to respective authorities.
• Collecting, calculating, and entering data to maintain and update payroll information.
• Compiling earnings, deductions, taxes, leave, and non-taxable wages and reporting on the same.
• Preparing ad hoc payroll financial and operational reporting as needed.
• Documentation of processes and SOPs and closure of audit requirements/queries.
• Coordinate with HRBP/ Payroll SPOC for timely inputs and closure of employee queries.
• Coordinate with finance and R2R and other departments.
• Handle internal and external audit queries.
• Provide actuarial data to business for provisions.
• Assist line manager with day-to-day operations or ad hoc tasks.

• Coordinate with various stakeholders Internally as well and with other departments such as finance, R2R etc.

• Provide Actuarial data to Business for calculation of provisions
• Assist line manager to perform day to day operations or any adhoc task assigned by the manager

Preferred candidate profile

• Commerce Graduate
• 4-6 years experience in managing Payroll and Compliances independently for a mid-sized company/ multiple entity with headcount of ~3K in diverse business scenario preferably in Shared Services/BPO.
