Responsibilities

• Final sign-off and clinical interpretation of all reports, especially Section A oncology panels.
• Set and review critical-value flagging thresholds across BC-720 / BS-240E / CL-900i.
• Oversee internal QC runs and EQAS enrolment.
• Approve panel logic and review against current oncology/pathology guidelines.
• Supervise and mentor MLT staff; conduct competency checks on sample handling and instrument operation.
• Handle physician queries on abnormal or discordant results.
• Maintain NABL/accreditation compliance documentation (if applicable).

Job description

Role Summary Overall clinical and technical head of the diagnostic lab. Responsible for report validation, quality assurance, and clinical correlation across all packages especially oncology monitoring panels where marker trends need physician-level interpretation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Final sign-off and clinical interpretation of all reports, particularly Section A oncology panels (tumour marker trend analysis, correlation with treatment stage)
• Set and review critical-value flagging thresholds across BC-720 / BS-240E / CL-900i
• Oversee internal quality control (daily QC runs, calibration schedules) and external quality assurance (EQAS enrolment)
• Approve panel logic and periodically review it against current oncology/pathology guidelines (e.g., ensure tumour markers are being used for monitoring, not marketed as standalone cancer screening)
• Supervise and mentor MLT staff; conduct periodic competency checks on sample handling and instrument operation
• Handle physician/clinician queries on abnormal or discordant results
• Maintain NABL/accreditation compliance documentation (if applicable)

Qualifications:

• MD (Pathology) from a recognized institution; valid state medical council registration
• At least 2-3 years of experience in to the diagnostic lab and hospitals exposure required
• Prior experience with automated haematology, biochemistry, and immunoassay analysers preferred
• Experience in oncology/tumour marker interpretation is a strong plus given the centres integrative oncology focus.
