Job summary

Cosmo Films is seeking a Paper Sheet Cutter Operator in its production department. The role involves operating and maintaining the paper sheet cutting machine, ensuring precise sheet dimensions, quality finish, and minimal wastage.

Responsibilities include setting up the machine for size, GSM, and thickness, monitoring alignment, and maintaining records. The ideal candidate may have ITI/ Diploma in Mechanical or related trade, with experience in paper cutting or packaging.

Qualifications

• ITI/Diploma in Mechanical or relevant trade is preferred.
• Experience in paper sheet cutting, paper converting, printing, or packaging is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Operate the paper sheet cutting machine according to production requirements and job specs.
• Set machine for required paper size, GSM, thickness and cutting dimensions.
• Ensure accurate cutting and inspect dimensions, edges, and finish of cut sheets.
• Monitor alignment, stack sheets properly, and minimize wastage.
• Follow safety procedures and perform basic cleaning and maintenance.
• Maintain production records and report breakdowns or quality issues.
• Coordinate with production team to achieve daily targets.

1. Job Purpose

To operate and maintain the paper sheet cutting machine efficiently and safely, ensuring accurate sheet dimensions, product quality, minimum material wastage, and timely completion of production targets.

2. Key Responsibilities

1. Operate the paper sheet cutting machine as per production requirements and job specifications.
2. Set the machine according to the required paper size, GSM, thickness, and cutting dimensions.
3. Ensure accurate cutting of paper sheets as per the specified measurements.
4. Check the quality, dimensions, edges, and finish of cut sheets.
5. Monitor paper alignment and ensure proper stacking of sheets during cutting operations.
6. Minimize paper wastage and maintain optimum machine utilization.
7. Perform routine machine cleaning, inspection, and basic maintenance.
8. Follow all safety procedures while operating the machine and handling cutting blades.
9. Maintain production records, cutting details, and material consumption reports.
10. Coordinate with the production team and shift in-charge to achieve daily production targets.
11. Identify machine abnormalities and report breakdowns or quality issues to the supervisor.
12. Maintain housekeeping and follow 5S/6S practices in the work area.

3. Educational Qualification

• ITI / Diploma in Mechanical or a relevant trade preferred.
• Candidates with relevant machine-operating experience may also be considered.

4. Experience

• 13 years of experience in paper sheet cutting, paper converting, printing, or packaging operations preferred.
• Freshers with relevant technical knowledge may be considered for trainee positions.

5. Required Skills

• Knowledge of paper cutting machine operations.
• Understanding of paper sizes, GSM, and cutting measurements.
• Basic measurement and quality inspection skills.
• Ability to identify and minimize material wastage.
• Knowledge of machine safety and basic maintenance.
