Job summary

Polyplastics Group is seeking a Senior Paint Shop Lead in India to drive robotic and manual painting operations for decorative plastic automotive components. You will oversee pretreatment, priming, base/top coats, and clear coats while ensuring safety, quality, and on-time delivery.

Strong leadership, problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration are essential. You will coordinate with Production, Quality, Maintenance, and Customer teams, implement Lean initiatives, and manage audits and

Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of Plastic Automotive Painting processes.
  • Experience in Robotic Paint Shop operations.
  • Knowledge of paint chemistry, viscosity control, curing, and defect analysis.
  • Experience with decorative plastic components (grilles, garnish, bezels).

Responsibilities

  • Lead Robotic and Manual Paint Shop activities, including Pretreatment, Primer, Base Coat, Top Coat, and Clear Coat processes.
  • Lead manpower planning, shift management, and skill development of operators and supervisors.
  • Manage complete Plastic Automotive Paint Shop operations, ensuring targets, quality, cost, delivery, and safety.
  • Ensure adherence to OEM quality standards for decorative plastic components.
  • Drive First Time Right (FTR) and reduction of paint defects.
  • Monitor and improve KPIs: rejection, rework, paint consumption, OEE, productivity.
  • Coordinate with Production, Quality, Maintenance, PPC, and Customer teams.
  • Implement 5S, Kaizen, TPM, Lean Manufacturing, and Continuous Improvement.
  • Monitor paint booth parameters, curing ovens, conveyors, and utilities for optimum performance.
  • Ensure compliance with IATF 16949, ISO 14001, safety and environmental requirements.
  • Handle customer audits, internal audits, and process improvements.
  • Support new product trials, PPAP activities, and process validation.
  • Drive cost reduction initiatives related to paint material consumption, utilities, and process optimization.

  • Manage complete Plastic Automotive Paint Shop operations, ensuring production targets,quality, cost, delivery, and safety objectives are achieved.
  • Ensure adherence to OEM quality standards for decorative plastic components.
  • Drive First Time Right (FTR), Right First Pass (RFP), and reduction of paint defects.
  • Monitor and improve KPIs such as rejection, rework, paint consumption, OEE, and productivity.
  • Lead manpower planning, shift management, and skill development of operators and supervisors.
  • Coordinate with Production, Quality, Maintenance, PPC, and Customer teams for smooth operations.
  • Ensure implementation of 5S, Kaizen, TPM, Lean Manufacturing, and Continuous Improvement initiatives.
  • Monitor paint booth parameters, curing ovens, conveyors, and utility systems for optimum performance.
  • Ensure compliance with IATF 16949, ISO 14001, safety, and environmental requirements.
  • Handle customer audits, internal audits, and process improvements.
  • Support new product trials, PPAP activities, and process validation.
  • Drive cost reduction initiatives related to paint material consumption, utilities, and process optimization.
Preferred candidate profile
  • Strong knowledge of Plastic Automotive Painting processes.
  • Experience in Robotic Paint Shop operations (Yaskawa/ABB or equivalent preferred).
  • Knowledge of paint chemistry, paint mixing, viscosity control, curing, and defect analysis.
  • Experience in decorative plastic components such as Grilles, Garnish, Bezels, Spoilers, and Interior/Exterior Trim Parts.
  • Strong leadership, problem-solving, and team management skills.
  • Good communication skills in Hindi and English.
  • Exposure to Tier-1 Automotive manufacturing environment is preferred.
