Paint Equipment Engineer - Manufacturing Engineering

Job summary

JSW MG Motor India Pvt Ltd is seeking an experienced Engineer for the Paint Shop to lead installation, commissioning and trials, deploy standards, and drive continuous improvements across the facility. You will coordinate PFMEA, vendor evaluations, and process development for new models, while ensuring quality, cost and delivery targets are met.

The role involves planning facility development, setting robotic and pre-treatment parameters, and collaborating with body groups and sealer suppliers

Responsibilities

• New Paint shop installation, commissioning and trials support
• Responsible for deploying Paint standards & SQCD standards throughout Paint shop as per Homeroom.
• Complete Throughput Time Analysis, Equipment Preventive & Corrective Maintenance Plans, Critical Equipment Planning.
• Plan for Development of facility (jigs/workstation, tools, paint circulation system, robots & related equipment)
• Pre-treatment Process, Robotic Parameter Setting. -Electrostatic Paint Dispensers, Conventional Paint Dispensers Paint System Handling,
• New Model launch & facility readiness
• PFMEA reviews and implementation
• Complete debugging of various problems during trials & commissioning stage by coordinating & project progress tracking.
• New Facility planning & RFQ Preparations On based on new facility requirement
• Address paint quality issues
• Paint shop process documentation ownership (OD sheet etc.) for all new Launches
• Support production and quality team for line related process quality issue.
• Change Management Coordinator to develop plans for Production Trial Runs, Engineering Try-outs, Engineering Work Orders, etc. during the launch process.
• Paint shop energy saving idea coordinator/implementer
• Establish proposed production process flow.
• Ensure manufacturing processes are capable of meeting and continue to meet requirements for Quality, cost, and delivery rate and lead time
• Paint shop related RFQ, Budget, Schedules, and quality reports preparation
• New facility installation monitoring, conduct engineering trials till SOP & handover to production after closing punch points
• Vendor Evaluation/ Procurement for new material and process
• Hands on Paint equipments setup
• Preparation and study of shop capacity & Cycle time study for process improvement
• Interface between body group, sealer suppliers and the paint shop to incorporate the design and application of new materials in the paint facility.
• Utilizes established verification process to validate workstation layout, ergonomics, error proofing, and operator certification by start of manufacturing validation build (ref. Manufacturing Process Validation-Workstation Readiness).
• Ensures the Paint Bill of Process (BOP) is met and executed for the Paint Shop
• Support team for new M&E execution and prove out
• Integral member of the problem resolution teams in the Paint shop, ensuring that the problem-solving process is being utilized.
• Owner for process design and new process development
• Drive for continuous improvement in respective areas.
• knowledge of Painting Major M&E of PTED line, Paint circulation system
