Job summary

Primo Foods in India is seeking a Packaging Supervisor to oversee workers on the packaging line, coordinate with production and QA teams, and ensure packaging meets SOPs.

You will monitor cold chain, train staff, and maintain documentation, including ERP data entry in Tally. The role focuses on optimizing the packaging line to achieve production targets.

Responsibilities

• Supervises and coordinates activities of workers in packaging products for storage or shipment.
• Studied production orders to determine product type, quantity, packaging material, and other packaging requirements.
• Inspects products prior to packaging and returns rejected products to production departments.
• Trains workers in operation of packaging equipment and notifies maintenance when necessary.
• Prepares monthly MIS for packaging.
• Puts packaging data into ERP (Tally) and ensures timely entry.
• Maintains cold chain throughout packaging line as per QA SOP.
• Keeps all required food safety documents and follows QA guidelines.
• Aims to optimize the packaging line to meet overall production targets.

Role & responsibilities

Supervises and coordinates activities of workers engaged in packaging products and materials for storage or shipment: Studies production order to ascertain type and quantity of product, packaging material to be used, and other packaging requirements.

• Inspects products prior to packaging and returns rejected products to production departments.
• Observes packaging operations and inspects containers to verify conformance to specifications.
• Ensures proper handling of packaging machinery and timely notifies maintenance department whenever necessary.
• Trains workers in operation of equipment.
• Prepares all reports related to packaging and prepare monthly MIS for packaging
• Should be able to put packaging data in to the ERP available (Tally) and do it on timely basis.
• Ensures Cold chain is maintained throughout packaging line as per SOP designed and shared by QA.
• Ensure all food safety documents are maintained as required.
• Follow and maintain all food safety guidelines shared by QA. And ensure the same is followed by the packaging team as well.
• Packaging line to be optimized to run in line with the overall production targets assigned by the management.
