Job description

The Packing Supervisor will be responsible for supervising pharmaceutical packing operations, ensuring GMP compliance, manpower coordination, packaging material verification, documentation accuracy, and timely batch completion. This requires strong shop-floor supervision skills, knowledge of packing processes, batch packing records, line clearance, and quality expectations. The candidate will coordinate with QA, production, warehouse, and maintenance teams to achieve efficient, compliant, and quality-focused packing execution.

• Supervise daily packing operations as per approved packing schedules and batch instructions.
• Allocate manpower, machines, packaging materials, and line resources for smooth execution.
• Ensure line clearance, batch startup, in-process checks, and changeover activities are completed properly.
• Verify packaging materials, labels, cartons, foils, batch details, and reconciliation records.
• Monitor packing productivity, machine performance, downtime, rejection, and output quality.
• Review batch packing records, logbooks, cleaning records, and packing documentation.
• Coordinate with QA, warehouse, production, and maintenance teams for operational support.
• Ensure compliance with GMP, SOPs, safety, hygiene, and regulatory expectations.
• Investigate packing deviations, material shortages, line issues, and product rejection trends.
• Train packing operators and workers on SOPs, documentation, safety, and quality requirements.
• Ensure proper segregation and handling of rejected, returned, unused, and approved materials.
• Monitor packaging material wastage and support corrective actions for reduction.
• Maintain discipline, cleanliness, and housekeeping across packing lines.
• Prepare shift reports, packing summaries, and line performance updates for management.
• Drive continuous improvement in packing efficiency, compliance, and product quality.
