Job summary

Sun Pharma in India is seeking a packaging operator to operate primary packing lines, ensuring compliance with cGMP and safety standards. The role includes machine setup, changeovers, line clearance, and maintaining batch records for quality and traceability.

You will monitor performance, minimize waste, verify labels and artwork, and participate in investigations as part of a compliant manufacturing team.

Qualifications

• ITI/ Diploma/ BSc/ HSC with relevant pharma packing experience.
• Certification in machine operation will be an added advantage.

Responsibilities

• Operate primary packaging equipment such as blister, strip, and labeling machines.
• Perform machine setup, format changeovers, and line clearance.
• Ensure proper coding, batch details, and product identification during packing.
• Monitor machine performance and report abnormalities promptly.
• Minimize product loss and packing material wastage.
• Maintain batch records and equipment logbooks.
• Verify artwork, labels, leaflets, and shipper details before batch initiation.
• Ensure correct packing configuration per BMR/BPR requirements.
• Conduct reconciliation of packing materials and finished goods.
• Adhere to cGMP, GDP, SOPs and safety guidelines.
• Participate in deviation investigations and CAPA closure.
• Maintain cleanliness and housekeeping of packing area per GMP.

Job Purpose

To operate, monitor, and maintain primary and secondary packaging machines in compliance with cGMP, safety, quality, and productivity requirements, ensuring timely packing of pharmaceutical products with minimal downtime and rejection.

Key Responsibilities

Primary Packing Operations

• Operate primary packaging equipment such as:
• Blister Packing Machines
• Strip Packing Machines
• Labeling Machines
• Perform machine setup, format changeovers, and line clearance activities.
• Ensure proper coding, batch details, and product identification during packing operations.
• Monitor machine performance and promptly report abnormalities.
• Minimize product loss and packing material wastage.
• Maintain accurate batch records and equipment logbooks.

Verify artwork, labels, leaflets, and shipper details before batch initiation.

• Ensure correct packing configuration as per BMR/BPR requirements.
• Conduct reconciliation of packing materials and finished goods.
• Perform packing line inspections to ensure compliance with quality standards.

Compliance & Documentation

• Adhere to cGMP, GDP, SOPs, and safety guidelines.
• Complete all production and packing documentation accurately.
• Participate in deviation investigations, CAPA implementation, and audit observations closure.
• Maintain cleanliness and housekeeping of the packing area as per GMP requirements.

Equipment Maintenance

• Perform routine cleaning and basic preventive maintenance of packing machines.
• Coordinate with Engineering and Maintenance teams for machine breakdowns.
• Support machine qualification, validation, and trial activities.

Required Qualifications
