Job summary

Mavenir in India is seeking a Packet Core Engineer to lead on-site installation, diagnose and repair complex network equipment, and ensure operational quality of system hardware and software.

You will work with customers, interpret their needs, and coordinate with sales, support, and engineering. Strong knowledge of 4G/5G core networks, network troubleshooting, and cloud-native platforms is required.

Qualifications

• Packet Core Engineer with expertise in 4G EPC and 5G Core technologies.
• Experience in troubleshooting network issues using Wireshark, Linux, and packet trace analysis.
• Familiarity with virtualization and cloud-native platforms (Docker/Kubernetes) and Python automation is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides on-site installation, troubleshooting, service, and repair of complex equipment and systems.
• Checks out and approves operational quality of system equipment.
• Instructs customers in operation and maintenance of the system.
• Interprets customer needs and coordinates problem resolution with sales, support, or engineers.
• May perform any aspect of field support including hardware, software, PCs, and networking/wireless networking.

Provides highly visible customer support through the performance of on-site installation, as well as overseeing any necessary diagnoses, troubleshooting, service, and repair of complex equipment and systems. Checks out and approves operational quality of system equipment. Instructs customers in the operation and maintenance of the system. Serves as company liaison with customer on administrative and technical matters for assigned projects. Interprets customers’ needs and clarifies if the responsibility for problem resolution falls to sales personnel, customer support reps, or engineers. This job may include any aspect of field support, and is not limited to system hardware and software, PCs, and networking/wireless networking.

Job Requirements

Packet Core Engineer with expertise in 4G EPC and 5G Core technologies, including GTP, Diameter, TCP/IP, and call flow analysis. Skilled in troubleshooting network issues using Wireshark, Linux, and packet trace analysis, with experience in incident management and RCA. Knowledge of virtualization, cloud-native platforms (Docker/Kubernetes), and automation using Python is highly preferred.
