RSPL Group's Hygiene Care division is seeking a Packaging Lead to guide strategy, innovation, and sustainability across Personal Care, Home Care, Feminine Care, Razor, and Baby Care portfolios.   • Bachelor's Degree in Packaging Technology and 5+ years packaging experience.

  • Strong exposure to flexible packaging, plastics, paper-based packaging, and sustainability materials.
  • Experience managing large-scale packaging portfolios across multi-location plants.

About Hygiene Care Division (Approx. 1350 cr)

HCD is into Hygiene, Utensil and Laundry care division. It has five manufacturing units in India and two in Bangladesh & One in Ethiopia. Product segments of RSPL ltd. for international markets are taken care by HCD division.

This job role is for RSPL HCD Division (Hygiene Care)
Purpose of the Role

Lead the packaging function across multiple FMCG categories, driving innovation, sustainability, quality, consumer experience, compliance, and cost efficiency. The role will be responsible for developing the packaging solutions that enhance brand equity, improve operational efficiency, and support business growth across Personal Care, Home Care, Feminine Care, Razor, and Baby Care portfolios.

Key Responsibilities
Packaging Strategy & Innovation
  • Develop and execute the organization's packaging strategy aligned with business objectives.
  • Lead packaging innovation programs focused on consumer convenience, product protection, sustainability, and premiumization.
  • Benchmark global packaging trends, emerging materials, and technologies.
  • Drive value engineering and continuous improvement initiatives.
New Product Development (NPD)
  • Partner with Marketing, R&D, Procurement, Manufacturing, and Quality teams to deliver successful product launches.
  • Lead packaging development from concept to commercialization.
  • Ensure packaging designs meet functional, aesthetic, and regulatory requirements.
Sustainability Leadership
  • Establish and implement sustainable packaging roadmaps.
  • Drive initiatives on recyclability, recycled content, light weighting, material reduction, and circular economy principles.
  • Drive initiative to create the value from packaging & other PE waste .
  • Ensure compliance with global sustainability commitments and local EPR regulations.
Packaging Engineering & Technical Excellence
  • Develop packaging specifications, standards, and test protocols.
  • Ensure packaging integrity throughout manufacturing, storage, transportation, and consumer use.
  • Develop the packaging testing capability within the organization.
  • Lead transit testing, compatibility studies, and packaging validation programs.
  • Introduce innovative materials and technologies to improve product performance.
Cost Optimization & Productivity
  • Identify and deliver packaging cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality or consumer experience.
  • Drive value engineering and supplier-led innovation projects.
  • Manage packaging budgets and annual savings targets.
Supplier development & Stakeholder Management
  • Develop strategic relationships with global and local packaging suppliers.
  • Develop the new packaging suppliers with procurement
  • Lead supplier qualification, capability assessment, and performance management.
  • Collaborate with procurement for sourcing and risk mitigation.
Quality & Compliance
  • Ensure packaging compliance with applicable regulations, product safety requirements, and industry standards.
  • Support quality investigations and corrective actions related to packaging performance.
  • Maintain robust packaging governance processes.
Team Leadership
  • Build and lead a high-performing packaging development team.
  • Coach and mentor packaging engineers, technologists, and project managers.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Packaging Technology,
  • 5+ years of Packaging experience in multinational FMCG organizations.
