Job summary

Sulzer Navi Mumbai seeks a Sr. Mechanical Engineer to design and develop mechanical and electro-mechanical systems for pumps. You will manage projects from concept through production, ensuring design alignment with customer specs and industry standards.

Ideal candidates have a mechanical engineering degree with 5–10 years in centrifugal pump design, and hands-on AutoCAD NX, Teamcenter, and SAP ERP experience. Travel and collaboration across teams are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from reputed institute.
• 5-10 years of experience in Centrifugal Pump design field & API standards.
• Hands-on experience on AutoCAD 2D & NX 3D; Teamcenter and SAP ERP familiarity.
• Independent and proactive with good communication & interpersonal skills.
• Able to learn quickly and drive excellence & competency.

Responsibilities

• Management of the assigned mechanical design projects from Sales order review stage to handover to production.
• Prepare and review customer project designs, convert requirements into product through order-related engineering.
• Prepare customer-facing documents like Pump Cross Section drawings, data sheets & curves.
• Review and approve buyout component drawings; BOM release in SAP ERP.
• Coordinate with Customers & sub-suppliers; support Operations, Purchase, Sales, Quality & Testing.
• Provide engineering support to pump site commissioning until successful operation; promote safety & improvement.

This role applies engineering knowledge to support the planning, testing, and implementation of mechanical and electromechanical systems.
