Job summary

Centre For Sight in Gujarat is seeking an OT Technician to support ophthalmic surgeries. You will prepare the operation theatre, check instruments and equipment, assist surgeons and nursing staff, and ensure aseptic technique throughout procedures.

Freshers with OT technician training may apply; a Diploma or B.Sc. in Operation Theatre Technology is preferred, with experience in ophthalmic hospital advantageous.

Qualifications

• Diploma/B.Sc. in Operation Theatre Technology or equivalent is required.
• Freshers with OT technician training may be considered.
• Relevant ophthalmic hospital experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the operation theatre before ophthalmic procedures.
• Arrange and check surgical instruments, trays, consumables, and OT equipment.
• Assist the ophthalmic surgeon and nursing staff during surgeries.
• Handle ophthalmic instruments carefully, including microsurgical tools.
• Perform cleaning, disinfection, sterilization, and proper storage of instruments as per protocols.
• Maintain aseptic technique and infection-control standards.
• Prepare patients for surgery and assist with safe transfer to and from the OT.
• Check availability and functioning of ophthalmic equipment such as microscope and phaco machine.

• Handle ophthalmic instruments carefully, including microsurgical instruments.
• Perform cleaning, disinfection, sterilization, and proper storage of instruments as per hospital protocols.
• Maintain aseptic technique and infection-control standards.
• Prepare patients for surgery and assist with safe transfer to and from the OT.
• Check availability and functioning of equipment such as operating microscope, phaco machine, cautery, suction, and other ophthalmic equipment.

Preferred candidate profile

• Diploma/B.Sc. in Operation Theatre Technology or equivalent.
• Relevant experience in an ophthalmic/eye hospital is preferred.
• Freshers with appropriate OT technician training may also be considered.
