Job Description

An OT Technician is responsible for preparing and supporting the operation theatre for surgical procedures. The includes preparing instruments and equipment, maintaining sterile conditions, assisting surgical and nursing teams, handling supplies, supporting patient preparation, and ensuring compliance with infection-control and safety standards.

• Prepare the operation theatre before scheduled procedures.
• Check the availability and functioning of OT equipment and instruments.
• Arrange surgical instruments, consumables, and required supplies.
• Assist in maintaining sterile and aseptic conditions in the OT.
• Prepare and maintain surgical sets according to procedure requirements.
• Assist surgeons, anesthetists, and nursing staff during procedures.
• Support patient transfer and positioning as directed by the clinical team.
• Assist with preparation of surgical equipment and accessories.
• Coordinate with CSSD for sterilized instruments and surgical sets.
• Maintain appropriate instrument and consumable counts.
• Assist with handling and disposal of biomedical waste.
• Clean and prepare OT equipment and areas after procedures.
