Job Description

A Technician - Operation Theatre supports surgical teams by preparing the operation theatre, equipment, instruments, and consumables and assisting during surgical procedures within the assigned scope. The ensures proper sterilization, equipment readiness, infection control, documentation, and safe functioning of the operation theatre.

• Prepare the operation theatre before scheduled procedures.
• Check surgical instruments, equipment, machines, and consumables.
• Ensure availability and readiness of required OT supplies.
• Assist surgeons, anesthesiologists, and nursing staff during procedures.
• Prepare and arrange instruments according to the surgical procedure.
• Maintain sterile and aseptic conditions in the operation theatre.
• Assist with surgical equipment setup and operation as trained.
• Check functioning of OT lights, tables, suction, cautery, and related equipment.
• Assist with instrument and consumable counts.
• Coordinate with CSSD for sterilized instruments and supplies.
• Follow infection-control and OT safety protocols.
• Handle and dispose of biomedical waste according to procedures.
• Clean and prepare the OT after procedures.
• Maintain OT equipment and procedure-related records.
