• Pass instruments and supplies to the surgeon during procedures.
• Anticipate surgical requirements based on the procedure and surgeons needs.
• Maintain sterile and aseptic techniques throughout the procedure.
• Maintain OT records, checklists, and documentation.
• Report damaged, missing, or malfunctioning instruments.
• Participate in infection-control, surgical-safety, and quality-improvement activities.

An OT Scrub Nurse is responsible for maintaining the sterile field and providing direct intra-operative support to surgeons during surgical procedures. The includes preparing instruments and surgical supplies, assisting during procedures, maintaining instrument counts, and ensuring adherence to sterile and patient-safety practices.

• Prepare the sterile field before surgical procedures.
• Check and arrange surgical instruments, sutures, consumables, and supplies.
• Perform surgical hand scrub and maintain appropriate sterile attire.
• Assist the surgical team with sterile gowning and gloving.
• Pass instruments and supplies to the surgeon during procedures.

• Communicate count discrepancies immediately to the appropriate team members.
