Job summary

Role Description The Orthotist will provide on-site clinical care at Steplab_HealthCare in Kozhikode, working directly with patients to assess needs, design, fit, and adjust orthotic devices that support mobility and functional independence. This full-time role includes conducting patient evaluations, performing gait analysis, taking measurements and impressions, and selecting appropriate materials and components for custom orthoses. The Orthotist will collaborate with prosthetists, physicians, physiotherapists, and rehabilitation teams to develop integrated treatment plans and monitor patient progress. Daily responsibilities also involve educating patients and caregivers on device use and care, documenting clinical findings, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring high standards of safety and quality. The role may include participation in case discussions, community outreach, and continuous professional development to stay current with clinical best practices.

Qualifications

• Clinical expertise in Orthotics, including design, fabrication, fitting, and adjustment of a range of orthotic devices.
• Foundational knowledge of Medicine and Orthopedic Surgery sufficient to understand musculoskeletal conditions and treatment plans.
• Proficiency in Gait Analysis and assessment of functional mobility to support evidence-based orthotic interventions.
• Understanding of Prosthetics and its interaction with orthotic care for comprehensive rehabilitation planning.
• Relevant professional degree or diploma in Prosthetics and Orthotics (or equivalent), with appropriate registration or licensing as required.
• Experience in patient-facing clinical roles, with strong communication, empathy, and counseling skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team and coordinate with doctors, physiotherapists, and rehabilitation professionals.
• Attention to detail, manual dexterity for device fabrication and adjustments, and commitment to ethical, non-discriminatory patient care.
