Job summary

Sutherland is seeking a Payroll Specialist in Hyderabad, India to manage end-to-end payroll cycles, ensuring accuracy and compliance with local laws. You will validate input data, handle salary, bonus, and deductions, and support stakeholders with payroll-related queries.

The role requires 3–5+ years of payroll experience and proficiency with SAP, Workday, or ADP, plus advanced Excel skills. A Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance/HR is preferred.

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years of hands-on payroll processing or payroll system implementation experience.
• Strong knowledge of statutory compliances, tax withholdings, and compensation structures.
• Advanced skills in Excel and payroll/HRIS software (SAP/Workday/ADP).

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end payroll cycles including validation of input data and salary calculations.
• Ensure compliance and file periodic statutory returns (PF, PT, TDS) in India.
• Configure, test, and optimize payroll software platforms (SAP/Workday/Dayforce).
• Reconcile payroll accounts and resolve discrepancies with ledgers.
• Answer employee and client queries regarding pay, taxes, and benefits.

Job Description

• Processing & Operations: Manage end-to-end payroll cycles, validate input data, and oversee salary, bonus, and deduction calculations.
• Compliance & Statutory Filing: Apply local tax rules, labor laws, and file periodic returns (such as PF, PT, and TDS in India).
• System Advisory & Implementation: Configure, test, and optimize payroll software platforms like SAP, Workday, or Dayforce.
• Audit & Reconciliation: Reconcile payroll accounts with general ledgers and resolve payment errors or discrepancies.
• Stakeholder Support: Answer employee and client queries regarding paychecks, taxes, and benefits

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or a related field.
• Experience: 3 to 5+ years of hands‑on payroll processing, management, or system implementation experience.
• Technical Proficiency: Advanced skills in Excel and specialized payroll/HRIS software (e.g., SAP, Workday, ADP).
• Knowledge: Strong grasp of statutory compliances, tax withholdings, and compensation structures.
