Job summary

Tata Consultancy Services in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, is seeking an experienced Oracle DBA to maintain Oracle Server databases with focus on security, backups, reporting, and recovery.

You will handle core DBA activities for Oracle 9i/10g/11g/12c, build and upgrade databases, manage ASM on RAC/non-RAC, and troubleshoot complex DB issues with performance optimization. Mentoring junior team members will be part of the role.

Qualifications

• Experience maintaining Oracle Server databases including security, backup, reporting, and recovery procedures.
• Core Oracle DBA activities for Oracle 9i/10g/11g & 12c including error diagnosis and handling.
• Create, build, and upgrade of instances and databases.
• Oracle database build using ASM on RAC/non-RAC.

Responsibilities

• Maintain Oracle Server databases including backup, security, reporting and recovery.
• Perform DB builds and upgrades including ASM utilization on RAC/non-RAC.
• Troubleshoot L2 DB issues independently and perform performance tuning.
• Mentor team members and share domain expertise.

Desired Competencies (Technical/Behavioral Competency)

Must-Have

• All functions associated with maintenance of Oracle Server databases including security, back-up, reporting, and recovery procedures
• Core Oracle DBA activities for Oracle 9i/10G/11g & 12c including error Diagnosis and handling of the same
• Create, Build, and up-gradation of Instances and databases
• Oracle database build using ASM on RAC/non-RAC.
• Manage and troubleshoot the L2 tasks independently
• Performance tuning, Scripting knowledge
• Share domain and technical expertise, providing technical mentorship.
• Database security patch application.
• Troubleshooting DB – Crash
• Rebuild Database due to Incident
• Responsible for improvement and maintenance of the databases to include rollout and upgrades
• Cross-training to support SQL in terms of maintenance of physical database structures and associated hardware, network, and system configurations.
• Provides hands‑on technical expertise, provides senior‑level technical guidance to team members. Knowledge of SQL DB is preferable.

Skills -

• OCP (Oracle Certified Professional) preferred.
• Should have proficiency in Oracle Server (9i, 10g, 11g, 12c +..) Configuration and Administration.
• Strong analytical skills for problem‑solving database‑related issues.
