Job Title: Analyst Infrastructure - Junior Oracle Database Administrator (DBA)
Location: Chennai
We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Junior Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) to join our team. In this role, you will assist in managing, maintaining, and optimizing Oracle database systems to ensure their consistent availability, reliability, and performance.
Database Maintenance: Assist in the installation, configuration, and upgrading of Oracle database server software and related products.
Backup and Recovery: Support the development and implementation of backup and recovery strategies. Perform regular backups and ensure data integrity.
Performance Tuning: Monitor and optimize database performance by troubleshooting issues and making necessary adjustments to improve efficiency.
Security: Assist in implementing and maintaining database security measures, including user permissions and encryption.
Data Management: Support data import, export, and migration activities. Ensure data consistency and integrity.
Monitoring: Regularly monitor database health, including storage, performance, and security metrics. Respond to alerts and troubleshoot issues.
High Availability: Assist in monitoring Oracle RAC and Data Guard environments and support high-availability operations.
Support: Provide support to developers and end-users for database-related issues. Assist in writing and optimizing SQL queries.
Documentation: Maintain and update documentation related to database configurations, processes, and procedures.
Education: Bachelors degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Experience: 1-2 years of experience in Oracle database administration. Experience gained through entry-level roles is acceptable.
Basic knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., Shell, Python).
Familiarity with operating systems (Linux/Unix preferred).
Oracle Database certification is a plus.
Experience in production support environments is preferred.
Willingness to participate in rotational shifts, weekend maintenance activities, and on-call support when required.
