Job summary

Tata Consultancy Services is seeking an experienced Oracle Database Administrator with 7 to 10 years of hands-on experience to manage, administer, and optimize Oracle database environments across PAN India. The role covers installation, upgrades, performance tuning, backup and recovery, high availability via RAC/Data Guard, and security.

The candidate will work with Linux/Unix, automation scripting, and collaborate with application teams during deployments and optimization efforts.

Qualifications

• 7–10 years of hands-on Oracle DBA experience.
• Expertise in RAC, ASM, Data Guard, RMAN, and OEM.
• Installation, upgrades, performance tuning, backup and recovery.
• Strong SQL and PL/SQL skills.
• Linux/Unix administration experience.
• Shell scripting and automation exposure.
• Understanding of Oracle security, auditing, and compliance.
• Production support experience with SLA commitments.
• Experience with Exadata and GoldenGate preferred.
• Cloud exposure to OCI/AWS/Azure/GCP preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage database backup and recovery using RMAN.
• Perform database cloning, migration, and refresh activities.
• Administer Oracle RAC, ASM, and Data Guard environments.
• Ensure high availability, disaster recovery, and business continuity solutions.
• Perform database capacity planning and storage management.
• Troubleshoot database-related incidents and provide root cause analysis.
• Implement database security, user management, and access controls.
• Support application teams during deployments, releases, and performance tuning activities.
• Automate routine DBA tasks using Shell Scripting, SQL, or PL/SQL.

Required Skills

• Strong experience with Oracle Database Administration (11g, 12c, 19c, or higher).
• Expertise in Oracle RAC, ASM, Data Guard, RMAN, and OEM.
• Experience in database backup, recovery, cloning, and migration.
• Strong SQL and PL/SQL skills.
• Knowledge of database performance tuning and optimization.
• Experience with Linux/Unix administration.
• Familiarity with Shell Scripting and automation tools.
• Understanding of Oracle security, auditing, and compliance requirements.
• Experience working in production support environments with SLA commitments.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Oracle Exadata.
• Knowledge of GoldenGate replication.
• Exposure to cloud platforms such as OCI, AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Experience with DevOps tools and CI/CD processes.
• Oracle Certification (OCP/OCA) is preferred.
