Job summary

Arcis E Services is seeking a Jr. DBA in Delhi (Field) to monitor databases, manage users and access, and ensure backups and maintenance are performed diligently. The role requires 2–5 years of experience and a BE/ TECH/ BCA/ BSC-IT background.

You will handle alerts, patching, and incident resolution while supporting service requests and batch jobs. Responsibilities include monitoring performance, managing permissions, and ensuring database health across Oracle, SQL Server, and MySQL/PostgreSQL

Responsibilities

• Monitor database availability and performance.
• Create, modify, and delete database users; manage access permissions.
• Monitor scheduled backups and verify completion; escalate failures.
• Respond to database alerts and tickets; perform initial troubleshooting.
• Assist with database patching and maintenance; verify services post-maintenance.
• Update runbooks and document incident resolutions.
• Handle user requests related to connectivity and password resets.
• Monitor ETL, replication, and scheduled jobs; restart failed jobs as needed.

Roles:

1. Database Monitoring
   • Monitor database availability and performance.
   • Check database health using monitoring tools.
   • Track CPU, memory, disk space, and database utilization.
   • Identify and elevate alerts and incidents.
2. User Management
   • Create, modify, and delete database users.
   • Reset passwords and manage access permissions.
   • Implement role-based security policies.
3. Backup Monitoring
   • Monitor scheduled database backups.
   • Verify backup completion and report failures.
   • Escalate backup-related issues to higher-level DBAs.
4. Incident Management
   • Respond to database alerts and tickets.
   • Perform initial troubleshooting.
   • Escalate complex issues to L2/L3 DBAs.
5. Database Maintenance Support
   • Assist with database patching activities.
   • Monitor maintenance jobs and scheduled tasks.
   • Validate database services after maintenance.
6. Documentation
   • Update operational procedures and runbooks.
   • Record incident resolutions and troubleshooting steps.
   • Maintain inventory of database servers and instances.
7. Service Request Fulfillment
   • Handle user requests related to:
     • User creation
     • Access permissions
     • Database connectivity
     • Password resets
8. Batch Job Monitoring
   • Monitor ETL, replication, and scheduled database jobs.
   • Restart failed jobs as per standard operating procedures.
