Must Have:

• Demonstrable experience of delivering Database operation teams/projects, with specific knowledge of service transition and supportability of solution in a Production environment of Oracle DB and MySQL, SQL Server administration understanding
• Demonstrable experience managing technical teams
• Understanding of Operational Acceptance, Disaster Recovery, and High Availability (HA) in a Production environment.
• Understanding of Change Management, Incident Management and Release and Configuration management processes.
• Infrastructure services delivery using offshore/onshore capabilities; an understanding of the complexities of working with teams.
• Ensures availability, security, and integrity of assigned databases.
• Resolves database performance, capacity, replication, and other distributed data issues.
• Install, patch and maintain all Oracle software. Installs and configures database management software (DBMS) including RAC and Data Guard and applicable service packs and/or patches.
• Develops and implements database maintenance plans, including performing integrity checks, updating statistics and monitoring security and hardware resource utilization.
• Advanced knowledge of Oracle RAC
• Participates in data modeling and database logical and physical design.
• Analyzes long-term database performance trends to optimize database and application performance.
• Configures database server to work with middleware, web servers and Online Analytical Processing (OLAP) tools.
• Design and implement a backup & recovery system and have extensive hands‑on experience on various RMAN Backup and Recovery Scenarios.
• Expert in provisioning and decommission of database including Instance/RAC/ASM/grid control/data guard
• Gathers and shares business requirements for their towers with the teams and ensures effective and efficient solutions are developed and implemented
• Problem solving and Decision Making - Resolve unusual or highly complex problems, with the involvement of others as required. Able to identify solutions and explore alternatives outside familiar approaches
• Result orientated - Develop logical, realistic plan to meet objectives. Tenacious and delivery focused in approach. Continually seeks to make the area in which they work more efficient and effective.
• Excellent written and oral skills, clear and concise, keeps manager informed of work progression at sensible intervals. Engage; manage vendors and third parties as appropriate.
• Good documentation experience
