Job summary

Head Hunters in Pune, Maharashtra, is seeking a hands-on Plant Operations Manager to own day-to-day manufacturing and plant operations in the water-treatment equipment sector.

The role focuses on production, productivity, quality, delivery, people management and overall plant efficiency, with no independent P&L responsibility. You will lead injection moulding, drive continuous improvement and ensure safety, compliance and timely MIS reporting to Senior Management.

Qualifications

• Graduate / Diploma / Engineering qualification, preferably in Mechanical, Production, Plastics or a related discipline.
• 12–15 years of relevant manufacturing / plant operations experience.
• Strong hands-on experience in Injection Moulding / plastics manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day plant operations and ensure smooth and efficient production.
• Plan and monitor production schedules to meet delivery commitments.
• Manage production manpower, shift planning and shop-floor discipline.
• Drive productivity, efficiency, capacity utilisation and reduction of manufacturing losses.
• Oversee Injection Moulding operations, including machine utilisation, cycle times and productivity.
• Ensure maintenance of moulding machines, moulds, tools and related equipment.
• Collaborate with Quality, Maintenance, Stores, Purchase and other functions to ensure uninterrupted production.
• Monitor rejection, rework, downtime and material wastage and implement corrective actions.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives across manufacturing processes and shop-floor operations.
• Ensure adherence to quality, safety and statutory requirements.
• Prepare and monitor production MIS and reports for senior management.
• Identify production bottlenecks and implement practical solutions.
• Develop the plant team and establish a culture of accountability and productivity.
• Support new product introduction, process improvements and manufacturing scale-up.

Our client is a growing manufacturing organisation operating in the water-treatment and water-management products sector. The company has a lean and entrepreneurial structure and is looking for a hands-on Plant Operations Manager to take ownership of day-to-day manufacturing and plant operations.
