Job summary

Seabird Logisolutions is seeking an experienced Operations Manager for the JSW Plant to lead end-to-end in-plant logistics, warehouse and line-feeding operations. The role focuses on ensuring uninterrupted material availability to production lines, implementing JIT/JIS feeding, and driving efficiency across manpower, MHE and 3PL activities.

Qualifications

• Graduate/Diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain, Operations or Engineering.
• 8–12 years of experience in automobile in-plant logistics, line feeding and 3PL operations.
• Hands-on experience in automobile manufacturing/assembly plant line-feeding operations.
• Strong experience in managing warehouse + line feeding + manpower-intensive 3PL operations.
• Experience with large teams and multiple operational activities.
• Good knowledge of JIT/JIS, Kanban, FIFO, material flow, MHE operations and production logistics.
• Strong customer handling, leadership, problem-solving and communication skills.
• Experience with WMS/SAP and operational MIS will be preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end in-plant logistics, warehouse and line-feeding operations at the JSW automobile plant.
• Ensure JIT/JIS material feeding to production lines as per production plan and takt time.
• Manage inbound material movement, storage, picking, kitting, sequencing and line-side delivery.
• Ensure zero line stoppage due to material availability or logistics-related issues.
• Plan and monitor manpower, MHE, vehicles and other resources for smooth operations.
• Lead and manage 3PL operations team including Area Leaders, Supervisors, DEOs and material handling manpower.
• Monitor productivity, manpower utilization, operational cost and adherence to SLA/KPI.
• Coordinate with Production, PPC, Stores, Quality, SCM and Customer teams for daily requirements.
• Ensure proper utilization and availability of MHE.
• Monitor inventory accuracy, material traceability, FIFO/FEFO and system transactions.
• Drive process improvement, productivity improvement and cost-saving initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with EHS, SOPs, 5S and customer safety requirements.
• Review operational MIS, daily performance reports, incidents, shortages and customer complaints.
• Conduct root-cause analysis and implement CAPA for operational issues.
• Handle escalations and ensure timely resolution of customer requirements.
• Support implementation of new processes, projects and continuous improvement initiatives.

Job Purpose

Responsible for managing end-to-end 3PL in-plant logistics and line-feeding operations, ensuring uninterrupted material availability to production lines, optimum manpower utilization, operational efficiency, safety and customer satisfaction.

Candidate Profile
