Job summary

Tenneco in Pune seeks an experienced production planning leader to coordinate daily cell production planning with PPC, ensuring safety standards and two days materials coverage.

The role monitors hourly and daily output with team leaders, drives CI targets, and collaborates across departments to solve 4M issues while maintaining quality and cost controls. Strong English, Marathi and Hindi communications are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering as listed in the ad.
• 18–20 years of production experience in automotive Tier 1 companies.
• Excellent communication and coordination skills with support functions and unions.
• Familiarity with drawings, APQP, PPAP.
• Quality systems knowledge: ISO9001, IATF16949, TS16949 and customer audits.
• Advanced PC skills: MS Office, spreadsheets, PPT.
• Strong English, Marathi and Hindi communication.
• Proficiency in welding processes.
• Strong root cause analysis skills (8D, fishbone, why-why).
• Ability to prepare annual operating plans: capacity, productivity, expenses.

Responsibilities

• Co-ordinate with PPC for daily production planning of cells.
• Ensure all shop floors follow safety standards.
• Interact with customers to ensure two days coverage of materials.
• Monitor hourly/daily production with team leaders.
• Work with departments to resolve 4M losses affecting productivity.
• Drive continuous improvement to meet productivity and quality targets.
• Review daily cell-level defects and customer complaints; root-cause actions.
• Participate in feasibility and risk assessment for ECN & projects.
• Manage a large team including union workers, engineers, and leads.
• Handle customer and system audits; maintain 5S on the shop floor.
• Plan and execute operating expenses per annual plan.
• New project launches and development; SMED and VSM knowledge.
• Knowledge of TPM and Autonomous Maintenance.

• Ensure all shop floors follow Personnel and Machine Safety standards.


• Daily interactions with customer & representatives to ensure customer is having 2 days coverage of materials


• Monitoring & Review of Hourly / daily production of cells as per target with Team leaders & Group leaders


• Work with various departments to resolve production 4M loss issues which affect productivity & target of cells


• Drive continues improvements projects to achieve plant productivity, CI targets & quality targets


• Quality focus on shop floor i.e. review daily cell level rejection, defects, and customer complaints. Drive team for proper root cause analysis & actions


• Active participation for feasibility and risk assessment in new ECN & projects


• Managing a team of 800 teams which includes union workman, engineers, team leaders & Group leaders


• To handle various customer & system audits.


• Strongly familiar with lean manufacturing techniques.


• Able to plan & execute operational expenses as per annual operating plans.


• Ensure shop floor will maintain/arranged as per global 5S standards


• Technical knowledge of welding, Press components and Assembly.


• Daily tracking and controls of Operation cost of the plant.


• New Project launches and development

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in mechanical engineering (DME, B.E., B. Tech etc.)


• Minimum 18 to 20 years of experience of production in automotive Tier 1 companies.


• Excellent communication & co- ordination skill to interact with support functions, union committee & members


• Familiarity with drawings, APQP, PPAP & knowledge.


• Well versed with Quality Systems such as ISO9001, IATF16949, TS16949 & customer audit like M&M MSES, VW formal Q capability etc.


• Advanced PC skills (MS Office, Spreadsheets, ppt etc.).


• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English, Marathi & Hindi


• Excellent in welding process.


• Excellent in root cause analysis techniques 8D, Fish bone diagram, why- why analysis.


• Excellent analytical skill


• Ability to do annual operating plan:- Capacity planning, productivity planning & operations expenses planning
