Job summary

Fareportal is seeking a detail-oriented Software Testing Engineer in Pune to ensure high-quality software across the product lifecycle. You will perform functional, API, database, and automation testing, collaborating with cross-functional teams in an Agile environment.

The role requires 1+ year of testing experience, strong knowledge of SDLC/STLC and Agile, and hands-on automation using Selenium and Postman. Proficiency in JavaScript and SQL Server is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Applications, or a related field.
• 1+ years of experience in Software Testing, preferably within Travel/Airline Domain.
• Strong understanding of SDLC, STLC, and Agile methodologies.
• Hands-on experience in Manual, Functional, Integration, System, and Regression Testing.
• UI and API automation using WebDriver/Selenium and Postman.
• Proficient in JavaScript including OOP concepts and data structures.
• Experience with SQL Server and database validation/testing.
• Familiarity with Azure DevOps (ADO) and CI/CD pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Analyze requirements, user stories, and specs to identify test scenarios and ensure coverage.
• Design, develop, and execute functional, integration, system, regression, and end-to-end tests.
• Develop and maintain automation test scripts for UI, API, and regression testing.
• Perform API testing using Postman and validate backend services.
• Conduct database testing and data validation using SQL Server.
• Identify, document, track, and retest defects through resolution using Azure DevOps/JIRA.
• Collaborate with Product, Development, and Business teams to ensure quality deliverables.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to test planning and retrospectives.
• Prepare and maintain test plans, test cases, execution reports, and quality metrics.
• Define testing scope and effort estimates for releases and feature deliveries.
• Ensure adherence to quality standards, automation best practices, and CI/CD processes.
• Contribute to continuous testing initiatives and proactive risk communication.

Role Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Testing Engineer with experience in the Travel Domain to ensure the delivery of high-quality software products. The ideal candidate will be responsible for functional, API, database, and automation testing across the product lifecycle while collaborating closely with cross-functional teams in an Agile environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze business requirements, user stories, and technical specifications to identify test scenarios and ensure complete test coverage.
• Design, develop, and execute functional, integration, system, regression, and end-to-end test cases.
• Develop and maintain automation test scripts for UI, API, and regression testing.
• Perform API testing using tools such as Postman and validate backend services.
• Conduct database testing and data validation using SQL Server.
• Identify, document, track, and retest defects through resolution using Azure DevOps/JIRA.
• Collaborate with Product, Development, and Business teams to ensure quality deliverables.
• Participate actively in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, grooming, and retrospectives.
• Prepare and maintain test plans, test cases, execution reports, and quality metrics.
• Define testing scope and effort estimates for releases and feature deliveries.
• Ensure adherence to quality standards, automation best practices, and testing processes.
• Contribute to CI/CD-driven quality engineering and continuous testing initiatives.
• Proactively identify risks, dependencies, and quality concerns and communicate them effectively.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor's or masters degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Applications, or a related field.
• Minimum 1+ years of experience in Software Testing, preferably within the Travel/Airline Domain.
• Strong understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC), and Agile methodologies.
• Hands-on experience in Manual, Functional, Integration, System, and Regression Testing.

• Good programming knowledge in JavaScript, including OOP concepts and data structures.
