Job summary

IndiGo in Chennai is seeking an Officer(T) Cargo Operations to oversee outbound cargo (domestic/international) and inbound cargo at the station, ensuring efficient handling and compliance.

The role requires coordinating packing, marking, weight verification, proper manifesting, and timely documentation, with liaison to customs and airport authorities.

You will supervise loading/unloading, messaging to destinations, and ensure daily equipment maintenance, contributing to smooth cargo movement.

JOB DESCRIPTION OF OFFICER(T)– CARGO OPERATIONS

Purpose:

This position is responsible for efficient handlingofoutbound (domestic / internationalcargo) from the station and handlingofinboundcargoarriving at the station.

JD:

• Conductcargooperationsin accordance with applicable regulations and standards as laid down in this manual.
• Ensure proper packing, marking and weight is there on the packet/AWB before acceptance.
• Ensurecargois properly manifested as per sales planning.
• Ensurecargois dispatched from warehouse properly with all relevant documents.
• Ensure proper documentation and reports are generated.
• Ensure proper segregation/ trolley make up are done for flights.
• Ensurecargois properly loaded/un-loaded from aircrafts.
• Ensure proper messages are forwarded to various destinationsoflocationofcargoand documents etc.
• Ensure incomingcargois properly segregated and delivered to consignee and ensure proper messages are sendofdiscrepancy if any.
• Ensure all relevant daily maintenance functionofequipment’s is carried out.
• Liaison with customs/AAI/CUT Operator and ensure all Govt. RegulationsofCustoms/AAI/CUT Operator are met.
• Ensure issuanceofcarting orders for exportcargoand delivery orders addressed to Customs
• Ensure that proper booking and reservations for shipments are done on the computer
