Job summary

IndiGo in Mumbai is seeking an experienced Cargo Operations Supervisor with 10–12 years in cargo operations to oversee the fast, safe movement of cargo at the airport by coordinating across departments.

You will ensure regulatory compliance, manage documents, liaise with clients and service providers, and lead a team to maximize aircraft space utilization while meeting service standards.

Qualifications

• 10–12 years of cargo operations experience
• Graduation degree
• IATA course completion
• Experience in aviation and logistics

Responsibilities

• Take corrective actions addressing hazards or errors from reports or incidents
• Ensure compliance with regulatory and internal requirements
• Issuance, maintenance, and retention of all operational documents per cargo manual
• Liaise with direct clients
• Monitor external service providers per SLA
• Gather market information on new techniques and competition
• Update market trends in confidential reports on handling information/facilities
• Collaborate with AOCS to maximize space utilization
• Maintain relationships with authorities impacting business
• Fulfill all training requirements of the station
• Handle administrative/HR functions at the station
• Set and maintain uniform operational procedures network-wide
• Assign responsibilities to team members and monitor performance
• Cost control through optimal resource utilization
• Update Head Office with periodical reports on operations and service delivery standards

Purpose:

This position is responsible for supervising and providing fast and efficient movement of cargo at the airport by coordinating with other departments and by completing duties related to cargo operations in a timely and systematic manner.

JD:

• Responsible for taking corrective actions, either to address hazards and/or errors identified through reporting or from other sources, or in response to events, such as accidents and incidents.
• Responsible for ensuring compliance with both regulatory and internal requirements.
• Issuance, maintenance and retention of all operational documents as per laid down procedures in this cargo manual.
• Liaise with direct clients.
• Monitor external service providers as per SLA.
• Gather market information on new techniques/ processes and competition.
• Updating of mark trend / (confidential reports) on handling information/ facilities.
• Liaise closely with AOCS to maximize upliftment and utilization of available space / underload of aircraft.
• Establish and maintain close relationship with internal and external authorities who have direct impact on business.
• To fulfil all training requirements of the station.
• Ensure all administrative/HR functions pertaining to the station.
• Set, implement and maintain uniform operational procedures in line with the network.
• Assign responsibilities to other team members and monitor their performance.
• Cost control through maximum utilization of available resources and cross utilization of resources.
• Update Head Office regularly by means of periodical reports highlighting operations and service delivery standards
