Job summary

Bunge Iberica SA is seeking an Officer - Mechanical for our manufacturing plant in India. The role involves carrying out planned and unplanned maintenance across plant utilities and packaging lines, ensuring safety rules are followed and equipment performs reliably.

The candidate will inspect machines, troubleshoot issues, and support SHE practices while maintaining clear logs and shift handovers. ITI or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering with 4–6 years of experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• ITI (Fitter/MMCP/Turner) or diploma in Mechanical Engineering is required.
• 4–6 years of experience in manufacturing industry or similar environment.
• Candidate should have strong hands-on maintenance and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Carry out routine, breakdown and preventive maintenance of plant utilities and equipment.
• Inspect packaging machines and related plant systems to ensure proper functioning.
• Troubleshoot leaks or faults and provide quick restart solutions.
• Ensure SOPs and safety procedures are followed during maintenance.
• Train and guide personnel on SHE practices and incident reporting.

Role Purpose: To carry out planned or unplanned maintenance activity and repair activity on various utility and maintenance systems of the plant.

Responsibilities

• Check routine shift work and complete any pending maintenance tasks.
• Carry out routine, breakdown, and preventive maintenance of all plant utilities and related machines and equipment.
• Physically inspect all packaging machines, JBM, air compressors, N2 plant water chillers, ammonia chillers, pumps, valves, rotary equipment, etc., to ensure proper functioning of the plant and utilities.
• Attend troubleshooting or leakage problems in the plant, solve problems, or provide alternate solutions for restarting the plant quickly in case of breakdown.
• Ensure proper implementation of SOPs during maintenance.
• Ensure strict implementation of safety procedures.
• Understand global SHE requirements and follow global guidelines.
• Guide and train personnel to ensure implementation of the SHE system.
• Provide active support for SHE management system implementation for critical items work permits.
• Report system, accident/incident details, conduct safety training, and support the organization to meet SHE targets.
• Properly take over and hand over charge during shift start and end. Maintain accurate logs.

Qualifications

Education & Experience: ITI (Fitter/MMCP/Turner) or diploma in Mechanical Engineering; 4–6 years of experience in any manufacturing industry.
