Job summary

Berger Paints is seeking an R&D Officer – Paint Technology at our manufacturing unit. You will support formulation development, testing, and improvement of paints used in production, and assist in lab testing, raw material evaluation, and plant trials to ensure quality and compliance with industry standards.

The role requires a Diploma in Paint Technology or B.Tech in Paint Technology with 1–3 years of hands-on experience in paint chemistry, testing, and documentation.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Paint Technology or B.Tech in Paint Technology required.
• 1–3 years of hands-on experience in paint formulation, testing and QA.
• Knowledge of safety, environmental, and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Assist in development and modification of paint formulations.

• Perform viscosity, gloss, adhesion, drying time, and color matching tests.
• Support scale-up activities and plant trials.

Job Summary

The R&D Officer – Paint Technology will support formulation development, testing, and improvement of paints and coating products used in manufacturing operations. The role involves assisting in laboratory testing, raw material evaluation, and plant trials to ensure product quality, performance, and compliance with industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in development and modification of paint and coating formulations.
• Conduct laboratory testing of raw materials, intermediates, and finished paint products.
• Perform routine tests such as viscosity, gloss, adhesion, drying time, hardness, and color matching.
• Support scale-up activities and plant trials for new or modified formulations.
• Assist in evaluation and qualification of new raw materials, pigments, resins, and additives.
• Maintain laboratory records, batch sheets, and test reports as per SOPs.
• Support troubleshooting of quality and application-related issues from production or customers.
• Coordinate with Production and Quality Control teams for process optimization.
• Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards in R&D activities.
• Maintain laboratory equipment, instruments, and housekeeping.

Skills & Competencies
