Job summary

Shavish Group is seeking an experienced Ocean Freight Product Manager to lead end-to-end ocean logistics, carrier negotiations, and vendor management in Mumbai. You will drive product strategy, pricing, and operational excellence while managing a team and ensuring compliance across processes.

The role requires deep knowledge of Indian Ocean freight, major trade lanes, and strong analytical and negotiation skills to optimize performance and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of Indian ocean freight and logistics operations.
• Understanding of major global trade lanes.
• Excellent carrier negotiation and procurement capabilities.
• Familiarity with Incoterms, BL procedures, customs, and port ops.
• Analytical mindset and strong communication skills.
• Experience with price setting, procurement, and product management.

Responsibilities

• Oversee Ocean Freight Product Management and strategy.
• Manage Ocean Freight Operations and carrier relationships.
• Lead vendor management and pricing activities.
• Supervise team performance and development.
• Coordinate customer service and escalation processes.
• Ensure compliance, risk management, and MIS/reporting.

• Strong commercial and analytical skills.

Experience

• 8-15 years of relevant experience in ocean freight forwarding, NVOCC, shipping, or logistics.
• Strong experience in FCL and LCL ocean freight operations.
• Experience dealing with major shipping lines and overseas agents.
• Experience in ocean freight pricing, procurement, carrier negotiations, and product management.
• Prior experience managing a team is preferred.
