Job summary

Savino Del Bene in Mumbai, India, is seeking an experienced Ocean Freight Operations leader to drive end-to-end import/export activities across the region and ensure operational excellence, customer satisfaction, and cost efficiency.

The role requires 10–15 years in ocean freight with regional/multi-branch experience and strong leadership. You will work on SOPs, KPIs, and collaboration with Sales and KAM teams to sustain growth.

Qualifications

• Graduate/Postgraduate in Logistics, Supply Chain, or Business Management.
• 10–15 years of experience in Ocean Freight/Freight Forwarding.
• Experience managing regional or multi-branch operations preferred.
• Strong leadership, commercial, analytical, customer management, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage Ocean Import & Export operations across all branches in the region.
• Ensure timely shipment execution, documentation, billing, and file closure.
• Monitor regional KPIs, productivity, revenue, GP, costs and operations.
• Drive SOP compliance and process standardization for efficiency.
• Manage relationships with shipping lines, vendors, CFS, transporters, and overseas agents.
• Handle critical customer escalations and ensure timely resolution of service issues.
• Collaborate with Sales and KAM teams to support retention and growth.
• Identify and control revenue leakages, losses, and unnecessary costs.
• Lead, develop, and motivate regional Operations teams and optimize manpower.
• Provide regular operational MIS and performance updates to Senior Management.

Job Purpose

To lead and manage Ocean Freight Operations across the assigned region, ensuring operational excellence, customer satisfaction, cost efficiency, profitability, and effective team performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage Ocean Import & Export operations across all branches in the assigned region.
• Ensure timely and accurate shipment execution, documentation, billing, and file closure.
• Monitor regional KPIs, productivity, revenue, GP, costs, and operational performance.
• Drive process standardization, SOP compliance, and continuous improvement.
• Manage relationships with shipping lines, vendors, CFS, transporters, and overseas agents.
• Handle critical customer escalations and ensure timely resolution of service issues.
• Work closely with Sales and KAM teams to support customer retention and business growth.
• Identify and control revenue leakages, operational losses, claims, and unnecessary costs.
• Lead, develop, and motivate regional Operations teams and ensure optimum manpower utilization.
• Provide regular operational MIS and performance updates to Senior Management.

Candidate Profile

• Graduate/Postgraduate in Logistics, Supply Chain, or Business Management.
• 10–15 years of experience in Ocean Freight/Freight Forwarding.
• Prior experience managing regional/multi-branch operations preferred.
• Strong knowledge of FCL/LCL, Import & Export operations.
• Strong leadership, commercial, analytical, customer management, and problem-solving skills.
