Job summary

Enerparc India is seeking an O&M Engineer to ensure maximum uptime, efficiency, and safety for rooftop and ground-mount solar projects. You will manage, troubleshoot, and optimize plant performance with strong analytical and electrical skills.

The role requires hands-on experience with Solar PV DC systems, inverters, protection, and SCADA monitoring, along with the ability to read electrical drawings and diagrams.

Qualifications

• ITI or Diploma in Electrical Engineering is required.
• 3–7 years of experience in Solar PV O&M is preferred.
• Experience in ground-mounted utility-scale solar plants is an advantage.
• Hands-on experience in DC troubleshooting and solar plant electrical systems is essential.
• Strong knowledge of Solar PV DC systems, strings, inverters, and DC fault troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Carry out day-to-day O&M activities of the ground-mounted Solar PV plant.
• Inspect, operate and maintain PV modules, strings, inverters, DC cables and connectors.
• Troubleshoot DC faults including string faults and insulation/earth faults.
• Operate and monitor AC electrical systems and Pooling Substation as per procedures.
• Inspect LT/HT panels, transformers, switchgear, protection and control panels.
• Attend breakdowns and restore system to minimize downtime.
• Monitor alarms and coordinate corrective actions.
• Carry out preventive maintenance per checklists and schedules.
• Maintain daily generation and maintenance records.
• Follow electrical safety procedures and PPE/LOTO requirements.
• Coordinate with O&M Engineer, Site In-charge and vendors.

Job description

O&M Engineer – will be responsible for ensuring maximum plant uptime, efficiency, and compliance with safety and quality standards for Enerparc India’s rooftop and ground mount projects. The role includes managing, troubleshooting, and optimizing solar PV plant performance. The position demands strong analytical/coordination skills, electrical engineering fundamentals, and an understanding of the Solar PV operations. Strong knowledge of solar PV systems, inverters, transformers, and protection systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out day-to-day O&M activities of the ground-mounted Solar PV plant.
• Perform inspection, operation and maintenance of PV modules, strings, String Inverters, DC cables and connectors.
• Troubleshoot DC-side faults including string faults, insulation/earth faults and connector/cable issues.
• Operate and monitor AC electrical systems and support operation of the Pooling Substation as per site procedures and authorization.
• Inspect and maintain inverters, LT/HT panels, transformers, 33 kV/66 kV switchgear, protection and control panels and auxiliary systems.
• Attend breakdowns, identify electrical faults and support timely restoration to minimize plant downtime.
• Monitor inverter, SCADA and plant alarms and coordinate corrective actions.
• Carry out preventive maintenance as per approved checklists and schedules.
• Maintain daily generation, equipment status, breakdown and maintenance records.
• Follow electrical safety procedures, PPE requirements and LOTO practices.
• Coordinate with the O&M Engineer, Site In-charge and service vendors whenever required.

Requirements

Qualification & Experience

• ITI - Electrical / Diploma - Electrical preferred.
• 3 - 7 years of experience in Solar PV O&M preferred.
• Experience in ground-mounted utility-scale solar power plants will be an advantage.
• Candidates with strong hands-on experience in DC troubleshooting and solar plant electrical systems will be preferred.
• Strong practical knowledge of Solar PV DC systems is essential.
• Good hands-on knowledge of solar strings, String Inverters, DC cables and DC fault troubleshooting.
• Good knowledge of AC electrical systems and HT/LT equipment.
• Ability to operate and monitor Pooling Substation equipment as per approved procedures and authorization.
• Hands-on knowledge of multimeter, clamp meter, insulation resistance tester (Megger) and other electrical testing instruments.
• Basic knowledge of SCADA and inverter monitoring.
• Ability to read electrical drawings and Single Line Diagrams.
• Good troubleshooting and fault-finding skills.

• Willingness to work in shifts, including night shift, as required.
