Job summary

Wakefit Innovations in Tamil Nadu seeks an engineering professional to develop new office chair models from market needs to production. You will manage the complete product development cycle, prepare specifications and BOM, and coordinate with design, production, purchase, quality and suppliers.

You will ensure ergonomic and functional requirements, conduct testing and value engineering, and guide prototype development and supplier collaboration to meet deadlines and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Develop new office chair models based on market requirements and customer specifications.
• Manage the complete product development cycle from concept to production.
• Prepare product specifications, technical drawings, and BOM.
• Coordinate with design, production, purchase, quality, and suppliers.
• Ensure timely completion of NPD projects.
• Ensure ergonomic, functional, and structural requirements.
• Conduct design improvements and value engineering.
• Coordinate prototype development and assembly.
• Conduct functional and performance testing.
• Identify design issues and implement corrective actions.
• Support durability, stability, load, and safety testing.
• Validate products according to applicable standards and customer requirements.
• Coordinate with vendors for samples, tooling, and technical development.
• Evaluate component quality and cost.
• Support material selection and alternative component development.
• Follow up on supplier development timelines.
