Job summary

Celestix Industries is seeking an experienced NPD Engineer – Electrical Terminals to lead new product development from concept through production. Qualifications

  • 5–6 years of NPD experience in electrical terminals.
  • Hands-on with copper terminals, cable lugs and connectors.
  • Strong CAD and DFM/DFMEA knowledge.
  • Understanding of tooling and progressive dies.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the complete product development lifecycle from concept to mass production.
  • Develop new electrical terminals, connectors, copper lugs, busbar components, and interconnection products.
  • Analyze customer drawings, specifications, and technical requirements.
  • Prepare feasibility studies for new product development.
  • Develop cost-effective and manufacturable product designs.
  • Manage Engineering Change Requests (ECR) and Engineering Change Orders (ECO).
  • Coordinate with Tool Design and Tool Room for progressive die development.
  • Support tool trials, sample development, and production validation.

Job Summary

We are seeking an experiencedNPD Engineer – Electrical Terminals with5–6 years of experience in the design, development, and industrialization of electrical terminals and copper interconnection products. The ideal candidate will be responsible for leading new product development projects from concept through production, ensuring products meet customer requirements, quality standards, and manufacturing objectives.

The role requires strong expertise interminal design, sheet metal stamping, progressive tooling, copper forming processes, engineering documentation, and product validation. The candidate will work closely with customers, tooling, production, quality, and procurement teams to ensure successful product launches.

Key Responsibilities
1. New Product Development (NPD)
  • Lead the complete product development lifecycle from concept to mass production.
  • Develop new electrical terminals, connectors, copper lugs, busbar components, and interconnection products.
  • Analyze customer drawings, specifications, and technical requirements.
  • Prepare feasibility studies for new product development.
  • Develop cost-effective and manufacturable product designs.
  • Manage Engineering Change Requests (ECR) and Engineering Change Orders (ECO).
2. Product Design & Engineering
  • Design electrical terminals and stamped components using CAD software.
  • Prepare:
    • 2D Manufacturing Drawings
    • 3D Models
    • Assembly Drawings
    • Technical Specifications
    • Bill of Materials (BOM)
  • Optimize product designs for manufacturability and cost.
  • Ensure compliance with customer standards and international requirements.
3. Tooling & Manufacturing Support
  • Coordinate with Tool Design and Tool Room teams for progressive die development.
  • Support tool trials, sample development, and production validation.
  • Resolve manufacturing and tooling-related issues.
  • Improve product quality and manufacturing efficiency through design optimization.
  • Support production during new product launches.
4. Product Validation & Testing
  • Coordinate prototype development and validation.
  • Conduct product testing and performance evaluation.
  • Analyze test reports and implement design improvements.
  • Ensure products meet customer specifications and quality requirements.
  • Support PPAP documentation and customer approvals.
5. Documentation & Engineering Control

Prepare and maintain:

  • Engineering Drawings
  • Product Specifications
  • BOMs
  • Process Flow Diagrams
  • Control Plans
  • DFMEA / PFMEA
  • PPAP Documentation
  • Work Instructions
  • Engineering Change Documentation
6. Cross-Functional Coordination

Work closely with:

  • Tool Design
  • Production
  • Quality Assurance
  • Procurement
  • Sales & Marketing
  • Customers
  • Vendors
  • Project Management

Provide technical support throughout the product development process.

7. Continuous Improvement
  • Identify opportunities for product cost reduction.
  • Improve product performance and manufacturability.
  • Participate in Value Engineering (VE) and Value Analysis (VA) initiatives.
  • Support Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement projects.

  • Strong knowledge of electrical terminal design and development.
  • Experience with copper terminals, cable lugs, connectors, and stamped components.
  • Understanding of sheet metal stamping and progressive die manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of copper forming processes.
  • Experience in New Product Development (NPD).
  • Understanding of GD&T and engineering tolerances.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes and quality standards.
