Job summary

Bhagwati Techno Fab in Haryana, India is seeking a tool design engineer with 3–8 years experience in press tools and sheet metal stamping. You will design toolings using SolidWorks, NX, CATIA and AutoCAD, and perform formability simulations. You will coordinate with tool rooms and suppliers, manage prototyping and validation, and act as the bridge between design, production and vendors to ensure accurate translations and revision control.

Qualifications

• Diploma or higher in mechanical/tool engineering required.
• 3–8 years experience in press tool design, stamping, or automotive manufacturing.
• Proficient with SolidWorks, NX/CATIA, AutoCAD and forming simulation tools.
• Experience with APQP and GD&T standards.
• Knowledge of welding techniques (MIG/TIG/Spot) is a plus.

Responsibilities

Role & responsibilities

1. Simulation and Analysis:

Conduct formability analysis using stamping simulation software (like Ansys Forming / AutoForm Forming)

2. Tooling & Fixture Management:

Create precise 2D and 3D designs for press tools, welding fixtures, and gauges using software like Solidworks, Unigraphics (NX), and AutoCAD.

Coordinate with tool room and suppliers on tool manufacturing

3. Prototyping and Validation:

Manage prototype builds, perform fit-and-function testing, and troubleshoot design issues.

4. Cross-Functional Collaboration:

Act as the primary link between the design office, tool room, production teams, and external vendors to ensure effective technical translation and version control.

Preferred candidate profile

1. Education:

A diploma / post-diploma / Graduate / Post-Graduate in Mechanical Engineering or Tool Engineering.

2. Experience:

Significant experience (typically 3~8 years) in press tool design, sheet metal stamping, and the automotive sector or manufacturing sector.

3. Technical Skills:

Proficiency in design and simulation software such as SolidWorks/Unigraphics (NX) /CATIA, AutoCAD, and Ansys Forming / AutoForm Forming.

4. Manufacturing process:

Familiarity with stamping, deep drawing, and various welding techniques (MIG/TIG/Spot)

5. Knowledge:

Strong understanding of quality standards (APQP), and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
