Prompt Equipments in Gandhinagar, India seeks an NPD Engineer to turn market needs into engineered solutions, guiding the full development cycle from concept to production readiness.

You will model, analyze and prototype with a focus on robustness, manufacturability and cost. The role requires solid fundamentals, CAD proficiency and experience driving DFMEA and stage-gate reviews.

Qualifications

• Proven NPD experience taking a machine/module from concept to production.
• Strong fundamentals in engineering and independent design calculations.
• Proficient in SolidWorks and AutoCAD.

Responsibilities

• Prepare 3D models, detailed part and assembly drawings with GD&T, BOMs and technical specs.
• Apply DFM/ DFA to ensure ease of fabrication, assembly and service; use FEA or simulation when needed.
• Plan and supervise prototype builds with production and vendor teams.
• Define trial protocols, test against targets, analyze failures, close issues and conduct DFMEA.

Role Summary

The NPD Engineer acts as the starting point for new machine development, translating market requirements into engineered solutions. The role drives the complete product development cycle, from concept and design calculations to prototyping, testing and production readiness, ensuring machines are technically robust, reliable, manufacturable and cost-effective.

Role & responsibilities

• Prepare 3D models, detailed part and assembly drawings with proper GD&T, BOMs and technical specifications
• Apply DFM/DFA principles so the machine is easy to fabricate, assemble and service. Use FEA or simulation where the design needs it.
• Plan and supervise the prototype build with the production and vendor teams
• Define trial protocols, test against targets, analyse failures, close issues, and conduct DFMEA and design reviews at every stage gate.
• Support Channel partners to ensure achievement of annual plan & growth targets.
• Release a production-ready documentation package and train the manufacturing and service teams.
• Support the first installations and use field feedback to improve the design.
• Run the NPD Process with a stage-gate review mechanism.

Preferred candidate profile

• Proven NPD experience, with at least one machine or major module taken from concept to production
• Strong command of engineering fundamentals and the ability to perform design calculations independently.
• Proficiency in Solid Works, AutoCAD.
• Sound knowledge of GD&T, materials, fabrication, machining, standard mechanical components and pneumatics.
