Job summary

Usha International is seeking a seasoned NPD Project Lead to steer new product development from concept through commercialisation for consumer appliances. You will convert market needs into PRS/PRD, benchmark competitors, and drive design validation with multi-functional teams across Marketing, Quality, Purchase, Manufacturing and Sales.

The role emphasizes DFM, DFA, Design-to-Cost, reliability, BOM management, tooling, and supplier development to ensure successful product launches.

Qualifications

• Lead NPD projects from concept to commercialisation with timelines and budgets.
• Convert consumer and market requirements into PRS/PRD.
• Develop innovative product concepts via benchmarking and tech evaluation.
• Coordinate with Marketing, Quality, Purchase, Manufacturing, Suppliers, Service and Sales.
• Drive mechanical/electrical/electronic product design, prototyping and validation.
• Apply DFM, DFA, Design-to-Cost, Value Engineering and Reliability.
• Develop and manage BOM, drawings, specs, prototypes, tooling and changes.
• Prepare and execute DVP, FMEA, performance, safety and endurance testing.
• Identify and develop suppliers for critical components and new technologies.
• Support tooling development, pilot production, process validation and ramp-up.
• Drive cost optimisation, component standardisation and platform development.
• Analyse product/field failures and implement corrective effects.
• Track NPD projects using Time, Cost, Quality and Performance metrics.
