Job summary

Daimler India Commercial Vehicles Pvt. Ltd. is seeking a Buyer New Parts Development Manager for sheet metal stamping components in Chennai, Tamil Nadu.

You will own end-to-end development from RFQ to SOP, drive APQP/PPAP, and coordinate tooling with suppliers to ensure launch readiness. Collaborating with engineering, quality, manufacturing, and logistics teams, you will drive supplier localization, cost optimization, and on-time program milestones while maintaining quality and regulatory

Qualifications

• Lead strategic sourcing and procurement of sheet metal and stamping components.
• Identify, evaluate, nominate, and develop suppliers based on quality, cost, delivery, technology, and capacity.
• Drive commercial negotiations, tooling investments, cost reductions, and long-term agreements.
• Manage end-to-end new part development from RFQ through SOP.
• Coordinate tooling design, trials, and tool buy-off with suppliers.
• Lead APQP, PPAP, process validation, and industrialization for launch readiness.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, Logistics, and PM teams to meet milestones.
• Monitor supplier project timelines, feasibility, and capacity to mitigate risks.
• Drive localization and cost optimization for sheet metal parts.
• Support design reviews and changes; ensure quality/regulatory compliance.

Responsible for the end-to-end sourcing and development of sheet metal and stamping components, including supplier identification and selection, commercial negotiations, tooling investments, cost optimization, and supply chain management.
