Job summary

Manipal Technologies Limited in India seeks a driven professional to lead high impact new product development (NPD) with a focus on long-term revenue. The role will drive joint ventures and collaborations, study best practices, and coordinate with multiple internal teams and external partners to commercialize innovations.

The candidate will oversee cross‑functional product development, ensure certifications and quality, and build roadmaps aligned with market dynamics and customer needs.

Qualifications

• BE/BTech in Electronics, Mechanical or Mechatronics.
• 1-3 years of manufacturing experience with cross-technological platforms and automation.
• Experience in new product development processes and commercialization.

Responsibilities

Job description

• Identify high impact NPD (New Product Development) with Long Term revenue generation.
• New Joint Venture/Joint Development, Collaboration Opportunities exploration and short listing after thorough study for NPD, Innovations, Digital Technology & Solutions.
• Study Industry’s best practices, methodology, technology, equipment’s implementation, its impact, pros and cons. In addition, shall be responsible to keep updated self of all relevant new technologies, products/processes and material that are being newly introduced.
• Do thorough multiple trials, quality check, crash test, certifications, etc before introducing the product to market and make sure product is fool proof with zero failure.
• Research on Intellectual property and patenting for Technology and print solutions.
• Do the competitor’s mapping and analysis.
• Continuously scan the market and related industry trends. Also evaluate our standing vis-à-vis our competitors.
• Analyse the internal and external customer expectations.
• Develop ways for brand value propositions.
• Communicate and liaison with the internal and external customers and engage with them to know their needs, satisfaction with our products and services and expectations.
• Build roadmaps for effective project execution with scenario planning based on market dynamics.
• Collaborate with the Finance, HR, Strategy, Production, SCM, Marketing departments, Software. development team to understand the pulse of the market, availability of internal resources and moreover to have integrated viewpoint for delivery and effective execution of projects.
• Come out with innovative ideas to continuously maintain the new product pipeline. Doing so, check on the feasibility aspect (how it’s going to make a business impact).
• Research on journals, literature, magazines, internet on printing, packaging, and related events
• Value re-engineering of existing products to improve quality and reduce cost.
• Execute design & development projects of new products in coordination with the cross-functional team.
• Look at bridging gaps between product and market needs.
• Manage development activities for both current and new products to strict commercialization schedules.
• Oversee technology transfer activities from the development group or from vendors to manufacturing.
• Identify criticalities/challenges in the project and implement corrective actions.
• Establish milestones and monitor adherence to master plans and schedules, identify program problems and obtains solutions, such as allocation of resources.
• Identify new technology, Products, manufacturing, assess the feasibility and prepare the solution by coordinating with internal development or external development team.
• Develop new Solution based on technology or Partner with technology provide and drive project / Product end to end for POC, implementation in collaboration with cross functional department.
• Work with Product stakeholders to identify product requirements, collect technical inputs and shape the solutions.
• Identify & obtain required certifications for developing products by coordinating with internal / external entities.

Scout for required equipment’s to automate the manufacturing process and Analyse trends, identify growth areas, perform feasibility study and quantifying opportunities for new products development.

Technical/Functional Proficiency Required

• Ability to produce project before the board in a coherent and logical way.
• Ability to liaison with the team, Inter department and external stake holders.

• Ability to own the process for deliverable, understanding the deliverable in great detail and all its complexity.
• Should try to establish credibility in technology, innovation, and knowledge exchange networks within 1 year.
• Should have understanding on Designs concepts and translate the same to development team or self develop the product based on requirement.

1-3 Years of experience in manufacturing capacity with exposure on cross technological platforms and automations.
