Cloudxtreme is seeking a Network Patching Support Engineer to plan, execute, and validate patching across a global infrastructure. You will ensure devices stay secure, stable, and compliant by coordinating with IT Operations, Security, and Applications while adhering to change processes.

Responsibilities include pre- and post-patch validation, rollback planning, and thorough documentation of outcomes and lessons learned to support continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Plan and execute scheduled patching activities for network devices during approved maintenance windows.
• Apply firmware, operating system, and security patches to routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, and wireless controllers.
• Coordinate with IT Operations, Security, and Application teams to minimize downtime and ensure change management adherence (CAB/ITIL).

• Pre- & Post-Patch Validation: Perform pre-patch assessments and backup configurations; conduct post-patch health checks and document outcomes.
• Coordination & Change Management: Collaborate with IT Operations, Security, and Application teams; follow CAB and ITIL change procedures; log and close patches in the change system.
• Troubleshooting & Rollback: Analyze patch-related issues; initiate rollback or remediation; provide incident reports and RCA as required; coordinate with service providers or vendors if needed.

Network Patching Role Summary:

The Network Patching Support Engineer will be responsible for planning, executing, and validating network device patching across a global infrastructure. The role ensures network devices remain secure, stable, and compliant by coordinating with multiple teams, following established change processes, and maintaining continuous service availability.

Key Responsibilities:

• Patching & Maintenance: Plan and execute scheduled patching activities for network devices during approved maintenance windows. Apply firmware, operating system, and security patches to routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, and wireless controllers. Ensure proper sequencing and version control of applied updates to prevent configuration drift.
• Pre- & Post-Patch Validation: Perform pre-patch assessments and backup configurations to ensure rollback readiness. Conduct post-patch health checks to verify system stability, connectivity, and service continuity. Document patch outcomes, deviations, and lessons learned for continuous improvement.
• Coordination & Change Management: Collaborate with IT Operations, Security, and Application teams to minimize downtime and user impact. Adhere to established Change Advisory Board (CAB) and ITIL-based change management procedures. Ensure all patch activities are properly logged, tracked, and closed in the change management system.
• Troubleshooting & Rollback: Analyze and resolve patch-related issues in a timely manner. Initiate rollback or remediation plans when patches cause instability or service degradation. Provide detailed incident and RCA (Root Cause Analysis) reports as required. If required Coordinate with service providers, vendors.
