Cloudxtreme is seeking a Network Patching Support Engineer to plan, execute, and validate patching across a global infrastructure. You will coordinate with IT Operations, Security, and Application teams, following ITIL change processes to maintain service availability.

Network Patching Role Summary: The Network Patching Support Engineer will be responsible for planning, executing, and validating network device patching across a global infrastructure. IThe role ensures network devices remain secure, stable, and compliant by coordinating with multiple teams, following established change processes, and maintaining continuous service availability.
Plan and execute scheduled patching activities for network devices during approved maintenance windows.
Apply firmware, operating system, and security patches to routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, and wireless controllers.
Ensure proper sequencing and version control of applied updates to prevent configuration drift.
Perform pre-patch assessments and backup configurations to ensure rollback readiness.
Conduct post-patch health checks to verify system stability, connectivity, and service continuity.
Document patch outcomes, deviations, and lessons learned for continuous improvement.
Collaborate with IT Operations, Security, and Application teams to minimize downtime and user impact.
Adhere to established Change Advisory Board (CAB) and ITIL-based change management procedures.
Ensure all patch activities properly logged, tracked, and closed in the change management system.
Analyze and resolve patch-related issues in a timely manner.
Initiate rollback or remediation plans when patches cause instability or service degradation.
Provide detailed incident and RCA (Root Cause Analysis) reports as required. If required Coordinate with service providers, vendors.
